    Abstract: An animated video device includes a support having a plurality of different images formed thereon and a transparent plate. The transparent plate has a grooved surface on one side thereof. Furthermore, the transparent plate is mounted adjacent and mounted for movement relative to the support by a driving mechanism. The driving mechanism includes a solenoid including a thin permanent magnet reciprocable within a coil a lever connected to the solenoid and mounted for pivotable movement to convert the motion of the solenoid to one of the support and the transparent plate.
