  • Patent number: 11763617
Abstract: A gate for regulating access in a transit system is disclosed. The gate comprises a movable barrier, secured storage, an RFID card reader, a first processing unit that processes a set of digits from an RFID credential, generates and transmits a hash value of the set of digits, and transmits a first bin. The gate comprises a memory, having a higher capacity than the secured storage, and a second processing unit, which sends validity information for a plurality of second bins having larger number of digits than the first bin, the validity information indicates which of the plurality of second bins is valid, check if the hash value is member of first list. If the hash value is on the first list, opening of the movable barrier is regulated and if a second bin from the plurality of second bins corresponding to the RFID credential is invalid, opening is denied.

  • Publication number: 20200046219
Abstract: A new device attached to a Smartphone has been invented to provide objective vision screening of young children including infants and newborns. The inventive device includes a main plane body which haves a cylindrical container for holding the optical elements and a house for holding the beam splitter. The main plane body is attached to a Smartphone. While the optical elements making the streak of light beam and moving it across the pupils of children, the camera of a Smartphone records the relative movement of the retinal reflex of the children eyes, which gives the information of refractive status, clarity of refractive media, alignment of the both eyes and other conditions of the eyes that may cause amblyopia. The principal of this device is similar to conventional streak retinoscopy, but it examines both eyes simultaneously and has more advantages.

  • Publication number: 20020078057
Abstract: A method and system for creating a new website from an existing website is disclosed. The existing website comprises a plurality of content items, wherein at least a portion of the content items include a reference link to other content items. The method and system include storing each of the content items in a first table, where each of the content items is represented by a content ID. Each of the content items are then duplicated in the table and a new content ID is assigned to each of the duplicate content items. Next, the content ID of each content item and the content ID of the corresponding duplicate content item are inserted into a lookup table as a source ID and a destination ID, respectively. The method and system further include finding each of the duplicate content items in the first table, and using the reference link of the duplicate content item as a source ID index in the lookup table to replace the reference link with the corresponding destination ID in the lookup table.

  • Patent number: 6381377
Abstract: An image scanning apparatus is described that includes a sensor having an array of imaging elements that generates a plurality of scan lines of image pixels from an original image. The image scanning apparatus also includes a control module that controls the sensor to generate the scan lines, some of the scan lines are tilted with respect to other scan lines such that some image pixels of any two adjacent lines are not overlapped. An imaging module is also provided in the image scanning apparatus that generates a scan image from the scan lines such that image resolution of the scan image is increased without increasing scan resolution of the sensor. A method of increasing the image resolution of a scan image without increasing the scan resolution of the scanner is also described.

  • Patent number: 6289163
Abstract: A frame-accurate video capturing system is described. The frame-accurate video capturing system captures a frame-accurate video segment into digital form. The system includes a start and stop frame capturing system that allows a user to identify a start frame and a stop frame of a desired video segment having a plurality of frames from an external video program. The frame-accurate video capturing system also includes a video segment capturing system that automatically captures the desired video segment of the external video program into digital form based on the start and stop frames captured by the frame capturing system. A method of accurately capturing a video segment from an external video program is also described.

  • Patent number: 6278491
Abstract: An automatic red-eye detection and reduction system is described. The automatic red-eye detection and reduction system includes a red-eye detector that detects if an image contains a red pupil without user intervention. The red-eye detector detects location and size of the red pupil if the image is detected to contain the red pupil. The automatic red-eye detection and reduction system also includes a red-eye reduction system that is coupled to the red-eye detector to change each red color pixel within the red pupil into a predetermined color such that color of the red pupil can be detected and changed without user intervention. A method of automatically detecting and reducing red-eye effect in a digital image is also described.

  • Patent number: 6038333
Abstract: A person identifier and management system is described. The person identifier and management system includes a face image database that stores the face feature data of each of a number of face images and the person-identifying data associated with each of the face images. A camera is also included in the person identifier and management system for capturing an input face image. A face analysis system is then coupled to the camera and the image database to extract the face feature data of the input face image and to compare the face feature data of the input face image with that of each of the face images stored in the database such that the person-identifying data of any stored face image similar to the input face image can be retrieved from the image database. A method of retrieving person-identifying information of an input face image from a face image database is also described.

  • Patent number: 6035055
Abstract: A digital image management system is described that includes a content analyzer that analyzes an image to extract content data from the image. The content data of an image include face feature data. The digital image management system also includes an image database that is coupled to the content analyzer to store pixel data of each of a number of images and the content data of each of the images. A search engine is also provided in the digital image management system. The search engine is coupled to the image database and the content analyzer to compare the content data of the images with that of an input image such that any image similar to the input image can be identified from the image database without retrieving the pixel data of the image from the image database. A method of extracting feature data of a face in an image is also described.

  • Patent number: 5982124
Abstract: An adaptive vehicle power window control apparatus (20) includes an electric motor (28) for moving a member (34) between a first position and a second position. The space between the first position and the second position is divided into a plurality of trap zones and each zone has an associated sensitivity value. A controller 24 determines (40) a value functionally related to the present motor speed and determines (44) a value functionally related to a reference motor speed. The sensitivity value is adjusted as a function of the two determined values. A window zone determining function (62) determines which of the plurality zones the member (34) is located. The value functionally related to present motor speed is adjusted (52) as a function of the sensitivity value for the zone that the member is located. A comparing function (48) compares the adjusted value with the value functionally related to reference motor speed. The motor direction and movement is controlled as a function of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 5557684
Abstract: A system stores images as a series of layers by determining (i) the boundaries of regions of coherent motion over the entire image, or frame, sequence; and (ii) associated motion parameters, or coefficients of motion equations, that describe the transformations of the regions from frame to frame. The system first estimates motion locally, by determining the movements within small neighborhoods of pixels from one image frame i to the next image frame i+1, to develop an optical flow, or dense motion, model of the image. Next, the system estimates the motion using affine or other low order, smooth transformations within a set of regions which the system has previously identified as having coherent motion, i.e., identified by analyzing the motions in the frames i-1 and i. It groups, or clusters, similar motion models and iteratively produces an updated set of models for the image.
