  • Publication number: 20240108793
Abstract: An embodiment includes a process for treating an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) endoleak with a shape memory polymer (SMP) foam device. First, a bifurcated stent graft is placed within the aneurysm while a micro guidewire is positioned within the aneurysm for future catheter access. Second, after placing the iliac graft extension, a catheter is introduced over wire to deliver embolic foams. Third, embolic foams expand and conform to the aneurysm wall. Fourth, embolic foams create a stable thrombus to prevent endoleak formation by isolating peripheral vessels from the aneurysm volume.

  • Publication number: 20240085449
Abstract: An electronic device may include a housing and a display in the housing. The display may be used as an anemometer to measure the speed of ambient air in the device's environment. In particular, the display may be monitored by a temperature sensor until it reaches an equilibrium temperature, at which point it may be heated by increasing the brightness of the display or using a separate heater. After heating, a cooling response of the display may be measured, and the ambient air speed may be calculated based on the cooling response of the display. Instead of measuring the air speed using the display, other components, such as a pressure sensor, may be used to measure the air speed by heating the components and measuring a cooling response of the components. Multiple temperature sensors may be incorporated into the device to determine a wind direction in addition to air speed.

  • Publication number: 20240088703
Abstract: High voltage discharge is provided. A system can include an electric motor of an electric vehicle electrically connected to a capacitor. A switching component can be connected with and intermediary to the electric motor and the capacitor. A controller can cause the switching component to enter a first state to cause the electric motor to convert electrical power of the capacitor to mechanical power to propel the electric vehicle, or convert mechanical power from a drive system of the electric vehicle to electrical power to charge the capacitor. The controller can cause the switching component to enter, in response to detection by the controller of an indication to discharge the capacitor, a second state to isolate the electric motor from the capacitor.

  • Publication number: 20240071266
Abstract: Systems disclosed herein are directed to a powered retail signage assembly having, inside a housing, a multi-layer translucent indicia panel and a light source panel emitting light to the rear of the multi-layer translucent indicia panel. The multi-layer translucent indicia panel includes a front tinted layer forming an indicium exposed on a front surface of the housing and a rear diffusion layer laminated with the front tinted layer at the back of the front tinted layer. The light emitted from the light source panel is diffused by the diffusion layer and transmitted through the tinted layer. The indicium appears brighter or darker than the front surface of the housing based on an external light condition.

  • Publication number: 20180087753
Abstract: A light fixture has two reflective blades that are adjustable. Adjusting the setting on the reflective blades allows for the controlling of how widely or narrowly the light will be focused from the light fixture. The reflective blades reside within the light fixture, and are positioned on either side of the lamp. The reflective blades attach to the light fixture via a fastener on two ends of the light fixture's casing, while alloblade each reflective blade to pivot along the two fasteners. The reflective blades are pivoted along the fasteners, and are held stationary through the use of a spring loaded knob that has a rounded base for embedding itself with in receptacle on the light fixture's casing.

  • Patent number: 9583329
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an adjustable induction lamp adapter that is also extendable. The adjustable induction lamp adapter attaches to an induction lamp by clamping onto an induction lamp bar. The clamping is achieved through the use of a removable end cap at the base of the adjustable induction lamp adapter, wherein the end cap has a cutout and screw to hold the induction lamp bar in place. The adjustable induction lamp adapter is designed to also be able to extend in length by attaching one or more extension adapters.

  • Patent number: 9053920
Abstract: An internal induction lamp with a glass envelope bulb assembly and an inductor shaft assembly. The glass envelope bulb assembly is a hollow glass envelope bulb with a mercury amalgam stem protruding downwards from the bottom of the hollow glass envelope bulb. The mercury amalgam stem is fragile, and protected by a stem protector. The inductor shaft assembly, which inserts into the glass envelope bulb assembly accommodates the protrusion of the mercury amalgam stem along with the stem protector. The inductor shaft assembly and envelope bulb assembly may attach via a threaded ring connector. The inductor shaft assembly may have a heat sink, and a gap within the heat sink to accommodate placement of the stem protector within this gap.

  • Patent number: 9030088
Abstract: A fluorescent lamp has an amalgam chamber that is in communication with the interior of the lamp through an exhaust tube. The amalgam chamber is constructed as a three-way junction with the exhaust tube and is formed at a supplementary angle of 180 degree or less with respect to the exhaust tube. The construction of the chamber utilizes the force of gravity to keep the amalgam away from the opening of the exhaust tube leading to the interior of the lamp. The amalgam chamber is capable of effectively retaining the amalgam within the chamber and preventing it from penetrating into the interior of the lamp regardless of mounting direction.
