Abstract: Described herein are techniques for storing and communicating content, such as medical information, for an individual person (e.g., a recipient of medical service, a healthcare patient, etc.). The medical information may be stored in, and communicated to and from, a collaborative medical record. A “collaborative” medical record is a medical record capable of receiving the user-specific medical information from multiple different sources (e.g., medical service providers, patients, etc.). To create and maintain collaborative medical records, and to communicate user-specific medical information, the techniques described herein generate and use generic medical information schemas. A generic medical information schema is defined so that related medical information can be organized so that it can efficiently and reliably be stored and/or retrieved via a user instance of the generic medical information schema in a collaborative medical record.

Abstract: Described herein are techniques for receiving a first communication sent to a virtual account address and sending a second communication to a recipient communication address. The virtual account address may include the recipient communication address in a user name part of the virtual account address, and the second communication may invite its recipient to request creation of a secure electronic message account. The recipient may then receive content associated with the first communication via the secure electronic message account.

Abstract: Techniques for checking content for style. Content that identifies a rule set is identified. The rule set includes rules of differing scope. The scope for some rules may be paragraph scope while the scope for other rules may be document scope. Conditions of rules of the rule set having differing scopes are checked. When conditions for one or more of the rules are met, actions specified for corresponding rules are performed. Users may be provided tools for creating or customizing rules.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and articles for synchronizing contents of associated computing devices are described herein. In various embodiments, the method includes receiving, by a first computing device, from a shared server, a notification that content on a second computing device has been created or updated. The first computing device may also request at least a first portion of the created/updated content from the second computing device to contribute to synchronizing the first and second computing devices with respect to the content. Further, the first computing device may receive at least a second portion of the created/updated content from the second computing device to effectuate said contribution to synchronizing the first and second computing devices with respect to the content.
