  • Publication number: 20140061110
Abstract: A filter housing that includes a bowl formed with a single thread that is stamped directly into the housing around a port. The thread is used to connect an auxiliary element, such as a drain valve or a WIF sensor, to the filter housing. An elevated ridge is formed around the bowl during the stamping process which increases the structural integrity of the housing around the port, and provides a surface for mating with the inserted auxiliary element.

  • Publication number: 20120170286
Abstract: An integral lamp assembly and method of construction thereof is provided. The integral lamp assembly includes a bulb and a plurality of terminals fixed to the bulb. The assembly further includes a socket having at least one through passage wherein the terminals extend through the at least one through passage. The assembly also includes a housing overmolded in bonded relation to at least one of the socket and the terminals such that the housing prevents the bulb from being removed from the socket and prevents the socket from being removed from the housing.

  • Patent number: 7164233
Abstract: An automotive lamp has a sealed envelope of barium silica glass that is essentially free of cadmium and in which a light emitting element is contained. Lead-in wires extend through the envelope and are coupled to the light emitting element. The glass envelope and lead-in wires have respective coefficients of thermal expansion over a temperature range form ambient to 520° C. which closely match one another to minimize stress and cracking of the envelope at the interface.

  • Patent number: 6906464
Abstract: A red automotive incandescent lamp having a sealed lamp envelope formed from an amber glass, a pair of filaments located within the lamp envelope, and a red pigmented coating applied to an external surface of the envelope. The amber glass provides initial filtering of the shorter wavelengths of visible light, so that the red pigment has to filter out less light and therefore can be made less opaque. As a result, the lamp produces the desired red colored light at a total light output that meets applicable SAE and ECE requirements for automotive lamps.

  • Patent number: 6469443
Abstract: An automotive lamp including a sealed envelope having a filament or other light emitting element contained therein, with the envelope being formed from a barium-silicate based glass that is essentially free of cadmium and that includes barium oxide in the range of 2.15%-2.25% by weight, strontium oxide in the range of 5.58%-5.82% by weight, potassium oxide in the range of 8.9%-9.3% by weight, and molybdenum oxide in the range of 0.068%-0.072% by weight. Specific amounts of other constituent components of the glass are also disclosed. The resulting lamp provides an amber color that meets applicable CIE chromaticity requirements for automotive lamps and the glass exhibits physical characteristics that are closely matched to that of lime glass, making it suitable for standard lamp manufacturing processes.
