  • Patent number: 11911074
Abstract: A strut measurement and feedback device and corresponding systems and methods for use with an external fixator are disclosed. The strut measurement and feedback device can be attached to a strut of an external fixator. The strut measurement and feedback device can confirm that the strut measurement and feedback device is attached to a proper strut to be adjusted. The strut measurement and feedback device can provide real-time feedback to an individual as the length of the strut is being adjusted to ensure the length adjustment complies with a prescription for the length of the strut. As a result, a patient can more effectively comply with the prescription as adjustments to the strut are made over time, thereby improving the likelihood of successful bone alignment.

  • Patent number: 11751912
Abstract: An external fixation strut and corresponding systems and methods of use with a bone alignment device are disclosed. The external fixation strut may provide an enhanced range of adjustable lengths and may be connected to a bone alignment device, thereby enabling the bone alignment device to be used over a larger workable range. As a result, comfort of a patient may be improved as the need to switch out the external fixation strut may be prevented. The external fixation strut may also include a single measurement scale that may be easily viewed and used to adjust the length of the external fixation strut, thereby ensuring more accurate length adjustments.

  • Publication number: 20210027879
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an intraoperative external fixation component tracking system to enable a surgeon to efficiently plan out construction of an external fixator. The intraoperative external fixation component tracking system further enables data related to the surgery, including data for determining a strut adjustment schedule for the external fixator, to be captured intraoperatively for use postoperatively. The present disclosure further provides a postoperative external fixation component tracking system to enable a patient to efficiently adjust struts of an installed external fixator. The postoperative external fixation component tracking system further enables to surgeon to remotely monitor the patients compliance with the strut adjustment schedule.

  • Patent number: 7608074
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for externally fixing and precisely adjusting fractures, such as fractures near the ankle, are disclosed. In one embodiment, an external fixation apparatus includes a first member attachable to a first bone segment through pins, a second member coupled to the first member through a lockable ball joint, wherein first and second ends of the second member may be translated transversely relative to a longitudinal axis of the second member, and a pin clamp coupled to and rotatable about the second member through a lockable joint and attachable to a second bone segment. The pin clamp and the second member may be releasably coupled.
