  • Patent number: 11162501
Abstract: The portable ceiling fan is a fan that removably attaches to a ceiling. The portable ceiling fan magnetically attaches to the ceiling. The portable ceiling fan is independently powered. By independently powered is meant that the portable ceiling fan can operate without a direct connection to an external power source. The portable ceiling fan comprises a ceiling fan, a mounting plate, and a control system. The mounting plate attaches to the ceiling with an adhesive. The mounting plate magnetically attaches to the ceiling fan such that the mounting plate attaches the ceiling fan to the ceiling. The control system remotely controls the ceiling fan such that the ceiling fan can be turned on and off without requiring physical access to the ceiling fan.

  • Patent number: 10328840
Abstract: A cargo strap monitoring system for real-time detection and reporting of cargo strap failure is provided. The cargo strap monitoring system may be a detector in the form of a cylinder that fits a winch slot. The cylinder provides a housing for circuitry operably linked to a pressure sensor. During normal operation a cargo strap is wrapped around and deployed from the spindle. The pressure sensor detects unsafe tension in the cargo strap. The circuitry includes a transceiver and a processor. Upon detection of an unsafe tension condition the transceiver transmits a warning to a remote monitor which may be located in a driver's truck cab. The remote monitor can be a mobile terminal such as a smart phone. The spindle with a slot and circuitry including the pressure sensor can be sold as a kit suitable for retrofitting to cargo strap winches.

  • Publication number: 20110184758
Abstract: A system for electronic medication administration records system utilizing a computer processing unit and an operating system in a correctional facility. The system updates patient history and medication distribution to certain patient inmates recording the distribution and inmate signature for accurate and irrefutable records. The system creates auto mapping medical distribution, but can be updated manually for unrecognizable drug administration for inmates. The system sends updates for medical history of inmates and notifies administrator for prescription refills and/or medication reorders. The system works in conjunction with a health care server.

  • Patent number: 5661858
Abstract: A compact powered lift toilet for assisting a person in rising from or being seated upon a toilet by duplicating the natural motions of the human body. The toilet set accomplishes three separate motions simultaneously: (1) vertical translation, (2) horizontal translation, and (3) rotation. A sun and planet gear mechanism lifts and moves forward the front of the toilet seat while a lever action on the rear of the toilet seat causes the rear of the seat to rise and tilt forward with respect to the front of the seat. Both the sun and planet gear and the rear lever action are effected by a single linear actuator.

  • Patent number: 5309583
Abstract: A powered toilet seat used in association with a toilet bowl or throw-away waste receptacle and which may be used to assist a person in being raised and lowered relative to the toilet bowl. The present invention provides separate sets of mechanical linkages in order to provide the optimum motion for raising and lowering of the seat and for raising and lowering of the armrest. While the seat is constrained to both lift and move forward slightly while it is being rotated forwardly, the armrests follow a circular arc in which the armrests initially move predominately in the upward direction and complete the motion by moving predominately in a forward direction. In addition, the armrests are maintained in a horizontal orientation at all time.

  • Patent number: 5271113
Abstract: The present invention provides for the conversion of a manual-type ambulance cot to electromechanical usage. In a manual-type cot having a wheeled undercarriage, a cot frame, scissor-action collapsible legs and an extensible member associated with the undercarriage so that extension and retraction of the extensible member raises and lowers the cot frame, the improvement of the present invention includes a linear actuator attached to the extensible member and powered by a high energy density gelcel-type battery. Manual lifting of the cot frame is replaced by electromechanical raising and lowering so that lifting injuries may be avoided.
