  • Patent number: 6038532
Abstract: A frequency analysis system for eliminating noise from an information signal. The system receives an input signal containing noise, and discriminates an information signal from the noise in the input signal. The system then uses the detected noise to cancel noise in the input signal. In one embodiment, the system builds a history of noise information based upon prior detected noise in the signal, and uses this history to predict current noise in the signal.

  • Patent number: 5652843
Abstract: An intermittent analog voice signal is coded which is contained in an analog mixed signal having the intermittent analog voice signal mixed with a background analog noise signal. An analog-to-digital converter receives the analog mixed signal and generates a coded output signal by digitizing the analog mixed signal when a control signal is applied thereto and does not generate a coded output signal when the control signal is not applied thereto. A voice signal detector means receives the analog mixed signal and detects periods during which the analog voice signal is present in the analog mixed signal. A control signal generator generates the control signal applied to the analog-to-digital converter during voice periods detected by the voice signal detector during which the analog voice signal is present in the analog mixed signal. The analog mixed signal is thus digitized by the analog-to-digital converter only during the voice periods detected by the voice signal detector.

  • Patent number: 5630015
Abstract: A band division process including a Fourier transformation is performed for an inputted speech signal, thereby outputting spectrum signals of plural channels. A cepstrum analysis process is performed for the spectrum signals, and a peak of the obtained cepstrum is detected in response to the cepstrum analysis result. Thereafter, a speech signal interval of the inputted noisy speech signal is detected in response to the detected peak, and a noise is predicted in the speech signal in response to the detected speech signal interval. Then, the predicted noise is canceled in the spectrum signals thereby outputting noise-suppressed spectrum signals. Finally, the noise-suppressed spectrum signals are combined and are inverse Fourier-transformed, thereby outputting a noise-suppressed speech signal.
