  • Publication number: 20080221075
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition includes, as an active ingredient, a compound according to formula 1436 as shown in FIG. 1, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. Various pharmaceutical products may be produced including this pharmaceutical composition. Such pharmaceutical products may be used for the treatment of obesity or diabetes. Methods for using the pharmaceutical compositions also are described. In these methods, various diseases are treated or other body functions are activated or inhibited by administering an effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition. For example, diabetes and obesity may be treated by administering an effective amount of the pharmaceutical compositions. Weight gain, and growth factor production can be inhibited by administering an effective amount of these pharmaceutical compositions.

  • Publication number: 20080208735
Abstract: In an enterprise where a database maintains multiple accounts for business customers, a method, system, and computer program product correctly links accounts which are associated with a common business. Business identification information from one or more external data sources is obtained and the format of the business identification data is standardized. Data records of business accounts are compared according to a plurality of rules for matching one business account to another. When two business accounts are found to match according to the business matching rules, a common identifier is applied to both business accounts to flag the two accounts as being associated with the same business entity. One or more hierarchy rules are applied to accounts associated with a common business, to establish a hierarchy among the accounts for purposes of marketing and other business communications.

  • Patent number: 7211906
Abstract: An electrical output power generation system is provided. A gas turbine engine rotor spool with at least one alternator rotor and steam turbine rotor are integrated and within a engine body having a combustor or external heat source having fluid communication with the bladed compressor rotor and a gas turbine bladed rotor of the said rotor spool. The alternator rotor has permanent magnets retained and positioned in close proximity and co-axial to the electrical stator having iron laminat and electrical wires. Relative rotational motion between the electrical stator and alternator rotor cause magnetic flux and subsequent electricity to be generated. The steam energy to drive the said rotor spool integrated steam turbine rotor can be from the gas turbine engine exhaust waste heat and or thru external heat energy sources.

  • Patent number: 7184421
Abstract: Network configuration hierarchy information is maintained using flexible mechanisms and methods for establishing routes and transferring information between nodes in ad-hoc data communication networks using on-demand multicast and unicast techniques. Communication nodes use network topology information to build and maintain a dynamically mobile, wireless, ad-hoc network capable of efficiently routing both unicast and multicast traffic. Network nodes that facilitate the collection and distribution of network topology and routing data are dynamically selected, configured, and maintained. Network traffic overhead necessary for maintaining and distributing network routing table information is held to a minimum and efficiently distributed across the network, thereby reducing the potential for network traffic bottlenecks due to network overhead processes.

  • Patent number: 7070394
Abstract: A gas pressure driven fluid pump comprising a pump tank having a liquid inlet and a liquid outlet. A float, carried within the interior of the pump tank, is operable to move between a low level position and a high level position. A snap-acting valve is operatively connected to the float. The snap acting valve has a rotatable port member that moves so as to switch to exhaust porting when the float falls to the low level position. The port member further switches to motive porting when the float rises to the high level position. As a result, fluid filling the pump tank causes the float to rise from the low level position to the high level position during exhaust porting. Fluid exiting the pump tank causes the float to fall from the high level position to the low level position due to introduction of motive gas during motive porting.

Exhaust porting begins when the float falls to the low level position.

  • Patent number: 6871604
Abstract: Solid combustible waste materials are converted into highly efficient fuel by subjecting such materials to size reduction in suitable size-reducing equipment. The last piece of the equipment is a mill which pulverizes the waste materials into fine particles having a high surface to mass ratio and forming a highly efficient fuel when these particles are directly injected into a combustion reactor operating at high temperature.

  • Publication number: 20040224011
Abstract: The present invention provides a liposomal composition for treating dyslipidemias in human subjects, a method of using a liposomal composition, and devices and modes of operation of the devices and of the compositions, and kits related thereto. The invention provides for the reverse transport of cholesterol from peripheral tissues to the liver in a warm blood mammal while controlling plasma atherogenic lipoprotein concentrations, including LDL concentrations. A method described above and mode of operation of the devices includes the step of administering an effective amount of a multiplicity of acceptors comprised of phospholipids substantially free of sterol. A method described above optionally includes the step of periodically assaying atherogenic lipoprotein concentrations with an assay during the treatment period to assess atherogenic lipoprotein concentrations and obtain an atherogenic lipoprotein profile, and adjusting the administration in response to the profile.

  • Patent number: 6783127
Abstract: A game board includes concentric circular areas (outer, middle, and center) each having a respective subset of piece locations. A barrier separates locations in the outer and middle areas and/or in the middle and center areas. Outer and middle area locations and some center area locations are disposed in a ring. Other center area locations are disposed inside the center ring. The barrier has two to four openings for pieces to pass through. A barrier separating the center and middle areas has at most four openings, preferably two aligned on a single diameter. Outer area locations have at least two different visual identifiers. A game includes providing a playing piece set to players, each set having one special piece and different other pieces identical to one another. Each player takes turns to prevent an opponent's special piece from being able to move without elimination of any piece during the game.

  • Publication number: 20040137128
Abstract: The invention provides a method for the preparation of a foamed drink comprising the steps of: providing a capsule containing a foamable ingredient; providing a receptacle positioned to collect fluid escaping from the capsule; injecting liquid into the capsule to mix with the foamable ingredient; allowing the foamable ingredient mixed with the liquid to escape from the capsule into the receptacle; followed by injecting further liquid into the receptacle in a jet having a diameter of from about 0.5 to about 2 mm to produce foamed liquid in the receptacle. The invention also provides capsules, apparatus and systems specifically adapted for use in the method. Preferably, the food ingredient is a milk powder, and the method produces a hot foamed beverage such as a cappuccino coffee.

  • Publication number: 20040041828
Abstract: The present invention provides method and apparatus for defining and redefining a non-contact dynamic user interface, which can control multiple applications or applets with one user interface. Sensors are used to determine the position and motion of a user's body or a pre-selected object, such as a wand. As new users train the user interface, the user interface determines the functionality of newly programmed commands and directions associated with physical positions and orientations of each users body, or of a physical object that is under the user's control. Existing functions and input meanings are used if they desired. New input command meanings and functionality are added as required. In an example system, a computer is directed by hand and arm positions of the user. The speed with which the user or physical moves may also by interpreted as an input parameter by the user interface.
