  • Publication number: 20230308012
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for operating a rectifier circuit, a control circuit for operating a rectifier circuit, and a power converter. The method includes operating the rectifier circuit (2) in a PFC mode, wherein operating the rectifier circuit (2) in the PFC mode includes regulating an output voltage (Udc) of the rectifier circuit (2). Regulating the output voltage (Udc) includes operating a switch (26) of the rectifier circuit (2) at a fixed switching frequency (fsw), and regulating the output voltage (Udc) includes regulating the output voltage (Udc) dependent on at least one operating parameter of the rectifier circuit (2) such that the switch (26) is operated under ZVS conditions.

  • Publication number: 20230268844
Abstract: An electrical converter includes at least three AC terminals, a first and a second DC terminal and at least three converter modules. Each of the at least three converter modules has a first converter stage including a flying capacitor circuit coupled to a first switch node, a second converter stage including a flying capacitor circuit coupled to a second switch node, a first inductor, and a first capacitor. The first and second switch nodes are connected to opposite terminals of the first inductor. One of the at least three AC terminals and the second DC terminal are connected to opposite terminals of the first capacitor. The second DC terminal forms a star-point of the first capacitors. A flying capacitor voltage of the first converter stage is clamped to a first voltage across the first capacitor when the first voltage drops below the flying capacitor voltage.

  • Publication number: 20230047484
Abstract: A method, a control circuit, and a power converter arrangement are disclosed. The method includes: coupling three power converters (1, 2, 3) with each other; connecting each of the three power converters (1, 2, 3) to a 3-phase power source (4) configured to provide three supply voltages (Ua, Ub, Uc); and regulating a respective input signal (V1, V2, V3; I1, I2, I3) of each of the three power converters (1, 2, 3) dependent on a common mode signal (Scm).

  • Publication number: 20220407405
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and a control circuit. The method includes operating a buffer circuit (1) in a first operating mode or a second operating mode. Operating the buffer circuit (1) in the first operating mode includes buffering, by a capacitor parallel circuit including a first capacitor (11) and a second capacitor (12), power (Po) provided by a power source (3) and received by a load (4). Operating the buffer circuit (1) in the second operating mode includes supplying power to the load (4) by the second capacitor (12), and regulating a first voltage (Upn) across the second capacitor (12), wherein regulating the first voltage (Upn) comprises transferring charge from the first capacitor (11) to the second capacitor (12).

  • Patent number: 11165339
Abstract: A method for operating a power converter is described. The power converter includes three input nodes each configured to receive a respective one of three input voltages, two DC link nodes configured to provide a DC link voltage, and a midpoint coupled to each DC link node. Three inductors are each connected to a respective one of the three input nodes. A rectifier bridge including three bridge legs are each coupled to a respective one of the three inputs through a respective one of the three inductors and connected to the respective one of the three inductors at a respective switch node. Each bridge leg is connected to the two DC link nodes and the midpoint, and includes at least one electronic switch. The power converter is operated in a reduced switching mode by deactivating at least one of the three bridge legs for a predefined time period.
