  • Publication number: 20250196148
Abstract: Thermal systems and methods including cooling and heating fixtures for use with flow cells and other analytic substrates. The cooling fixture includes a turbulent air flow cavity with an array of air flow diverters that facilitates fast, accurate, and uniform cooling of a flow cell or other substrate positioned across an opening of the cavity. The heating fixture includes an array of light emitting diodes that are spaced apart from and configured to provide overlapping radiation intensity profiles that facilitate fast, accurate, and uniform heating of the flow cell or other substrate positioned relative to the LED array.

  • Publication number: 20250099954
Abstract: A flow cell including a substrate that is configured to support an analyte array, a cover, and an adhesive arrangement spacing the cover from the substrate to define a fluid gap between the substrate and cover. The flow cell also includes an inlet in fluid communication with the fluid gap and an outer perimeter. In one example implementation, fluid enters the flow cell at the inlet, flows through the fluid gap, and exits the flow cell at the outer perimeter between the substrate and the cover; with adhesive gaps in the adhesive arrangement at the outer perimeter of the flow cell allowing fluid to exit from the fluid gap.

  • Publication number: 20240053252
Abstract: A device for sorting cells includes a rotatable substrate (601) configured to rotate around a rotation axis (611) to generate a centrifugal force and a cover layer (441) attached to the rotatable substrate (601). The rotatable substrate (601) includes a sample reservoir (602) disposed at the center of the rotatable substrate (601), a flow path (604) coupled to the sample reservoir (602) and extending radially towards a periphery of the rotatable substrate (601) and including a bifurcation (606) into a main channel (607) and a side channel (608). The rotatable substrate (601) moves a plurality of cells stored in the sample reservoir (602) to a periphery of the rotatable substrate (601) by a centrifugal force. The cover layer (441) includes a first opening in fluid communication with the main channel (607) and a second opening in fluid communication with the side channel (608).

  • Publication number: 20230381782
Abstract: A nucleic acid sequencing system may include non-planar substrates coupled to the outer surface of a rotating drum. The substrates may be curved and include a plurality of nucleic acid samples. A detection system, including for example an objective and a camera, may detect sequencing events on the non-planar substrate while the non-planar substrate is rotated relative to the detection system around a longitudinal axis of the drum by the actuation system.

  • Publication number: 20220403466
Abstract: A nucleic acid sequencing system may include a substrate coupled to a rotating disk. The substrate may include a plurality of nucleic acid samples. A detection system, including for example an objective and a camera, may detect sequencing events on the substrate while the substrate is rotated relative to the detection system around a rotational axis of the substrate, perpendicular to a surface of the substrate, by the actuation system.
