  • Patent number: 5592734
Abstract: A TAB carrier for film-mounted integrated circuits comprises a body member having a rectangular cavity for receiving a TAB segment of a flexible film strip and a retainer member shaped and sized to fit conformably within the cavity, each integrally molded of a resilient polymeric material. A fully automated TAB framer includes a pair of vertically-oriented pneumatic rams having vacuum operated pick up heads on the lower ends thereof. A cutting assembly cuts TAB segments from the film strip. The rams are laterally shiftable between two positions for picking up TAB segments, placing a segment in a carrier body, picking up a retainer member and inserting the retainer member into the carrier body thereby forming a framed TAB segment.

  • Patent number: 5333640
Abstract: A flow divider, i.e. a splitter, to receive flow through an input port, is arranged in respective embodiments, with each embodiment respectively dividing flows, with each flow comprising a combined flow of a substance, consisting of multiple small units, and a gas flow under pressure, with the energy of the gas flow moving all the multiple small units of the substance throughout the flow divider for delivery therefrom through outlet ports thereof. In one embodiment, a housing has an input portion and an output portion, with the input portion having a central input port extending from the exterior into the interior thereof, and an interior recess to receive a seal, and with the output portion having a centered cavity to receive a centered shaft and a disc rotor on the shaft, and outlet ports extending from the centered cavity to the exterior of the housing. After installing the seal, shaft, and disc rotor, the housing portions are secured together.

  • Patent number: 5251372
Abstract: A fully automated TAB framer includes a pair of vertically-oriented pneumatic rams having vacuum operated pick up heads on the lower ends thereof. A cutting assembly cuts TAB segments from a roll of film having a number of such segments thereon. The rams are laterally shiftable between two positions for picking up TAB segments, placing a segment in a carrier body, picking up a retainer member and inserting the retainer member into the carrier body thereby forming a framed TAB segment.

  • Patent number: 4949159
Abstract: A carrier for film-mounted integrated circuits comprises a body member having a rectangular cavity for receiving a segment of a flexible film strip and a retainer member shaped and sized to fit conformably within the cavity, each integrally molded of a resilient polymeric material. A series of undercut ledges are spaced along the interior periphery of the cavity and complementary lips are spaced along the exterior periphery of the retainer member and protruding from the outer edge faces thereof in juxtaposition with the undercut ledges for interengaging therewith. The lips and ledges interlock the retainer member within the body member in nested relationship with a margin of said rectangular segment sandwiched between the flat bottom wall and flat bottom face of the body and retainer members.
