    Abstract: A reaction canister for a passenger side airbag module is designed with a collapsible sidewall to prevent impact injuries occurring through the instrument panel. The sidewall is connected to the reaction canister base by means of a friction fit hook assembly. The assembly disengages upon impact with the mouth of the canister.
