  • Patent number: 7886610
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the differential pressure of fluid in filter. The apparatus comprises a housing defining a pressure chamber. A differential pressure gauge divides the pressure chamber into first and second fluid chambers. The differential pressure gauge is arranged to measure a differential pressure between fluid in the first chamber and fluid in the second chamber. The differential pressure gauge has a variable output.

    Assignee: Donaldson Company, Inc.
Inventors: Michael Jon Gustafson, John R. Hacker
  • Patent number: 7311747
Abstract: A generally cylindrical filter element incorporating nonsymmetrical or asymmetrical V-pleated media. The V-pleated media provides increased filter media per given filter volume, extended filter life, and a smaller filter for equivalent filter life. A smaller filter is generally beneficial for some applications such as aircraft, due to its lower weight. Various features of the filter include asymmetric variable pleat heights applied to a cylindrical or obround filter; defined pleat spacing applied to a variable pleat height element; optimal pleat density; and optimal shape of inlet and outlet.

  • Patent number: 6322697
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a filter assembly including an outer housing, and a removable filter insert that fits within the housing. The filter insert includes a generally cylindrical filter element. An insert body is connected to the filter element. The insert body includes a top end cap in which a top end of the filter element is potted, and a bottom end cap in which a bottom end of the filter element is potted. The insert body also includes a cylindrical liner or wall that surrounds the filter element. The cylindrical liner is spaced-apart from the filter element such that an annular flow passageway is defined between the cylindrical liner and the filter element. The outer wall is configured to prevent contaminants from escaping from the filter insert and contaminating the inside of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5517655
Abstract: A system and method for allowing events in a rich object-oriented environment to be monitored by functional processes within that environment. Events can be monitored by any number of functional processes, and the monitoring functional processes can take action based upon the monitored event received. Multiple object-oriented environments are provided with each environment comprising a distributed communications manager. These distributed communications managers facilitate the monitoring of events by the functional processes. An overall communications manager is also provided to monitor the entire system.

  • Patent number: 5303375
Abstract: A system and method for selecting appropriate running functional processes within an object-oriented environment, based upon specified criteria. The selection is made based upon criteria required by the running functional processes and the nature and requirements of the requesting functional process. The present invention allows for these characteristics of the functional processes to be contained in the operation request, so that it is not necessary to obtain them from a common depository.
