  • Patent number: 5553435
Abstract: A block spacer system for locating and supporting a plurality of blocks arranged end to end in a lateral direction so as to form vertically adjacent lower and upper tiers of a mortarless wall structure. The spacer system includes horizontal and vertical block spacer members where the horizontal block spacer member is secured to a downwardly adjacent block of the lower tier and has a frontal support member proximate a front face of the downwardly adjacent block of the lower tier. The frontal support member has an upstanding locator wall surface facing rearwardly for abutment with the front face of the adjacent block of the upper tier to define a forward locator position, offset the upper tier rearwardly and prevent forward displacement of the upper tier relative to the lower tier. In addition, a spacer web on the forward locator wall surface defines a lateral locator position.

  • Patent number: 5333557
Abstract: A combination of a side rail of a platform assembly and a bracket member therefor. The side rail has an elongated sidewardly opening recess. The recess also opens outwardly at one end thereof. The recess includes a bottom wall and a plurality of upstanding sidewalls. An end of the recess remote from the aforesaid one end includes an enlargement. The bracket member has at one end thereof an enlarged segment and at an other end thereof an attachment structure for facilitating an attachment of the bracket member to another object. The enlargement and the attachment structure are connected by a central section. Edge facing surfaces of the central section of the bracket conform to and oppose the sidewalls of the recess between the enlargement and one end of the side rail. An embossment is upstanding from the bottom wall of the recess and has a first hole therethrough. A pocket is provided in the bracket member and receives therein the aforesaid embossment. The pocket has a second hole in the bottom wall thereof.

  • Patent number: 4971478
Abstract: A height or level adjusting device for use with a platform assembly, which platform assembly has a platform section and an upstanding cross brace member oriented between the platform section and a support surface. The cross brace member has a pair of laterally spaced, upstanding extensions thereon. A cross piece support member is provided as is a first mounting structure for facilitating a mounting of the cross piece support member on the cross brace member. A second mounting structure is also provided for facilitating a mounting of the platform section on the cross piece support member. A housing structure is provided at each end of the cross piece support member. Each housing has at least one open side forming an opening into an interior cavity of the housing structure and a bottom wall of the cavity.

  • Patent number: 4969777
Abstract: A platform assembly having a pair of separate, laterally spaced and parallel side rails. At least one elongated load supporting structure is provided and is connected to and extends between the side rails. The load supporting structure has a load supporting surface on a top surface thereof and, at opposite longitudinal ends of the load supporting structure, at least a pair of L-shaped flanges. A first of the flanges is adjacent the top surface while a second of the flanges is adjacent a bottom of the load supporting structure. The load supporting structure is coupled to the side rails by first orienting the longitudinal axes of the load supporting structure and the side rails perpendicular to each other and then sliding the load supporting structure onto the side rails. The L-shaped flanges grip around the upper and lower edges of the side rails.
