  • Publication number: 20090134619
Abstract: A pipe fitting or pipe having a body and at least one radially outward projecting projection disposed on a exterior surface of the pipe fitting. The projection may have a leverage point configured such that force applied to the leverage point is translated into a force on the pipe fitting. A method of installing the pipe fitting is also disclosed, including a preparation step, a first coupling step, and, optionally, a second coupling step. In the first coupling step, a force may be applied to one of the projections on the pipe fitting to manipulate the pipe fitting to operably couple it with a pipe. In the optional second coupling step, a force may be applied to one of the projections on the pipe fitting to brace the pipe fitting to operably couple it with a pipe. An installation tool may be used to apply a force to the projection.

  • Publication number: 20080314468
Abstract: A cap or plate configured to be coupled with an electronic or magnetic marker and the end of a pipe. The cap may comprise a top portion with a first diameter, a second portion with a second diameter, and a top surface configured for coupling with an electronic or magnetic marker. The first diameter may be approximately equal to an outer diameter of a first pipe, and the second diameter may be approximately equal to an outer diameter of a second pipe. The plate may have a diameter that is greater than the inner diameter of a pipe. The plate may be secured to the pipe such as with a conventional cap, or a threaded plug. When the cap or plate is coupled with a pipe, the electronic or magnetic marker may be used to locate and/or identify a pipe.

  • Publication number: 20080048446
Abstract: There is provided a two-piece fitting and gasket assembly for telescopically receiving a tube such as a pipe. The assembly has a tubular, preferably cylindrical, body portion; a gasket retaining space defined by a wall on the body portion; a gasket housed within the gasket retaining space; and a retainer adapted for mounting over the wall and for retaining the gasket within the gasket retaining space. The gasket includes an annular ring portion, a sleeve portion extending radially inwardly from the annular ring portion and a further annular seal portion extending from the top end of the annular ring portion. The retainer has an interior leg and an exterior engaging leg. A retainer assembly is provided on the annular wall and the exterior engaging leg opposite the gasket. When the tube or pipe is received in the assembly, such that when pressurized, the gasket is compressed at a compression zone causing the wall to move radially outward and thereby further locking the retainer in place.

  • Patent number: 6962373
Abstract: A pipe fitting includes a body having sockets for receiving pipes therein and a composite gasket housed within a circumferential gasket retention housing integral with the socket. The composite gaskets include a V-shaped carrier of relatively stiff plastic having an elastomeric seal portion bonded thereto.

  • Publication number: 20050132340
Abstract: A system and method for selection of versioned translation routine is presented. A component sends a translation request to a translator service whereby the translation request includes provided input version, a requested output version, and a provided input data value. The translator service compares the provided input version and the requested output version with registered input versions and registered output versions of a plurality of translators. The translation service selects one or more translators based upon a hierarchical comparison approach, and translates the provided input data value into a translated data value. After translation, the translator service sends the translated data value to the component.
