  • Patent number: 5136744
Abstract: A multi-purpose fishing tool to aid in the cutting of line and the maintenance of fish hooks and flies is disclosed. The fishing tool comprises two normally spaced-apart hand grips that are attached to a common flexure assembly. A knife blade is mounted to one of the hand grips and is oriented and directed to abut an anvil surface on the other hand grip. One of the hand grips contains a storage compartment that is normally enclosed by an outer cover of the hand grip. The second hand grip contains a file that can be extended through an opening in the butt end of the hand grip for the actuation of a lever normally seated in a slot in the base of the hand grip. A pin for cleaning the eyelet of flies and hooks is mounted to the frame of the tool.

  • Patent number: 4850031
Abstract: An avalanche rescue system in which reliable triggering conserves power and permits a high power alarm to be transmitted from a victim to a survivor. Triggering is provided by light sensitive elements on the user, or by a signal transmitted from a survivor. Microprocessor control synchronizes VHF information signal transmission and burst microwave transmission from a victim as well as received signal processing by a survivor. A directional multiple antenna array is switched to provide directional signals displayed to the survivor. A garment is used to affix the system to the person of the user. A unit includes a case and a cover, and the directional antenna array is extended when the cover is opened.

  • Patent number: 4639156
Abstract: A painting system having a supply section, a delivery and control section, and an applicator section. The supply section comprises a peristaltic type pump. The delivery and control section comprises a unitary tube having a delivery passageway and an air pressurizing passageway. A pressurizing control switch at the location of the applicator acts through the air passageway to control operation of the pump. The applicator section has a housing which provides a uniform pattern of distribution passageways for uniform application of paint.

  • Patent number: 4411387
Abstract: A manually-operated spray applicator for discharging a coating fluid is comprised of a receiving chamber having inlet and outlet ports for respectively admitting and discharging coating fluid under pressure developed by a jet of air issuing slightly upstream of the receiving chamber and created upon the manual stroke of an air-compression piston; a closed compression chamber isolated from the receiving chamber within which the airjet is developed; and a stroke-responsive sealing stem having a central airway with an air jet orifice in registration with the discharge area of the outlet port, which airway is in communication with the compression chamber; wherein the sealing stem is adjustably reciprocable along a line from a biased sealing position closing the outlet port at the beginning of a stroke on the piston, to a retracted position with the airjet removed to a preselected position slightly upstream of the outlet wherein the sealing stem returns to its sealing position prior to the completion of that strok

  • Patent number: 4244602
Abstract: A shock absorbing ski pole having a hand grip mounted for up and down motion on the upper end of the ski pole. To cushion shocks imparted to the ski pole, a pneumatic cylinder and piston assembly is mounted in the upper end of the ski pole and operatively connected between the hand grip and the shaft. In addition, a compression spring is mounted in the upper end of the shaft to urge the hand grip to an upper position and also cushion impacts on the ski pole. An elongate friction and positioning sleeve is positioned securely within the hand grip and frictionally engages the outer surface of the upper end of the shaft to provide a frictional drag force and provide firm engagement between the hand grip and the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4192424
Abstract: An upright mounting post supporting a plurality of outwardly extending shoe display units. Each display unit comprises a platform having two side by side upwardly facing display surfaces to carry a pair of shoes in an upright position. At the outer end of each unit, there is a vertically adjustable toe-securing device, and a pair of heel engaging devices are positioned at the inner end of the platform. The platform is mounted to the post by means of a pair of resiliently mounted outwardly extending flanges which fit into a slideway in the form of a pair of opposed slots provided by the mounting post. The platform can be moved upwardly or downwardly to any desired position, and a cam-like locking device is positioned between the resiliently mounted flanges to press the flanges into locking engagement with the slots and hold the platform in the desired position.
