    Abstract: A method and system may provide an automated pharmacy processing system which may automatically processes an electronic prescription by converting the electronic prescription into a pharmacy prescription record that may include exception cases. In this way, an electronic prescription for a medication that is not within a formulary of a patient may be filled by a pharmacist without manual data entry. The system receives an electronic prescription and compares data from the electronic prescription with entries in one or more drug utilization rules. When there is a match between the electronic prescription data and an entry in the one or more drug utilization rules, the system may perform a drug utilization review with an alternate prescription.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying Good Faith Dispensing red flags, as well as evidence to support the validity of a prescriptions for any red flags, associated a patient's attempting to fill a prescription for a controlled substance based on input from pharmacists as well as patient information coordinated across a network of pharmacies are provided herein. An exemplary computer-implemented method may include receiving a request to dispense a medication prescribed to a patient, collecting information associated with the patient, and identifying, based on one or more of the medication and the information associated with the patient, one or more red flags associated with dispensing the medication to the patient. The method may further include determining, based on the one or more identified red flags associated with dispensing the medication to the patient, whether dispensing the medication to the patient would violate any regulations, and if so, preventing the dispensing of the medication to the patient.
