  • Patent number: 11753783
Abstract: Elongated protective barrier apparatuses, assemblies and methods of manufacture and installation, are provided that utilize strips of recycled tire tread for attachment within an elongated recess of a guardrail. The elongated recess includes a base, first and second outwardly tapered walls, a minimum width defined between the outwardly tapered walls and an outer opening opposite the base. The elongated protective barrier includes a base layer and a plurality of additional layers sequentially stacked upon the base layer. The base layer includes a first base layer surface having a first base layer width, and a second base layer. The first base layer width is less than or equal to the minimum width. The plurality of additional layers have widths less than that of the elongated recess and are configured to substantially fill the recess at least up to, if not beyond, the outer opening.

  • Patent number: 10590616
Abstract: A method of fitting a protective barrier on a structure base. The method may include removing a first sidewall from a tire. A line may be cut spanning from an outer diameter of the sidewall to an inner diameter of the sidewall such that the sidewall includes sidewall ends and the sidewall is no longer a continuous loop. The sidewall ends may be bent away from each other to widen a gap between the sidewall ends. The sidewall may be placed around the structure base by moving the sidewall relative to the structure base such that the structure base passes through the gap and into an inner opening of the sidewall.

  • Publication number: 20060248844
Abstract: A color coded molded plastic clip comprising a pair of opposing clasp assemblies provides a means of holding a pair of reinforcement bars in a parallel orientation. Each clasp assembly comprises an upper clasp and a lower clasp. Each upper clasp includes a pair opposing, convexly curved fingers extending upward from a transverse support toward and attached to a pair of parallel longitudinal supports. Each clasp assembly further includes a second pair of opposing, convexly curved fingers extending downward from either end of the transverse support so as to form a lower clasp. Flared guides are attached to the lower ends of the opposing fingers of each lower clasp. During installation of the lower clasp of the clip upon a reinforcement bar, the pair of flared guides engages the bar and guides it to the lower clasp gap for insertion into the lower clasp.
