  • Publication number: 20230149009
Abstract: Suture anchor insertion assemblies include needles pre-attached to suture or suture tape, which reside within a housing of an inserter. The suture extends around a suture bridge of a suture anchor having at least one rib extending through the internal volume. An outer surface of the shaft of the inserter includes a groove sized to receive both the rib of the suture anchor and the length of suture while still allowing the suture to slide relative to the inserter.

  • Patent number: 11648002
Abstract: Anchor delivery systems include markings on the surfaces of the delivery device which are visually exposed to the user through openings or fenestrations in the anchor, providing visual feedback to the user on the progress of the anchor's insertion. A suture-locking plug is deformable within the anchor tip, thereby enhancing suture entrapment within the tip of the anchor. A compliant component of the handle places the handle components in tension, thereby absorbing built-in axial looseness in the handle. The handle further includes a spin cavity which allows for free spin of the inserter shaft to finalize insertion of the anchor into bone when the anchor has not been fully seated flush with or below the cortical bone surface.

  • Publication number: 20230134446
Abstract: A suture anchor assembly is disclosed herein. The assembly includes an anchor body for anchoring within a target tissue, the anchor body including a proximal connecting portion. The assembly also includes an insertion instrument for inserting the anchor body within the target tissue. The insertion instrument includes a connecting portion at a distal end thereof that interdigitates with the anchor body connecting portion to provide rotational stability between the anchor body and insertion instrument. The connecting portions, when assembled, forms a tubular shape with a shared inner diameter and a shared outer diameter. The shared inner diameter defines a cannulation that received a plug therethrough. The plug may axially advance into the anchor body, to knotlessly lock a suture of the suture anchor assembly.

  • Publication number: 20220079576
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a kit for augmenting a primary repair construct in an articulating joint. The kit includes a flexible member, a first implant that fixes a first end of the flexible member in a first bone adjacent to the primary repair construct and a second implant that may selectively couple to the flexible member, and thereby fix a second end of the flexible member in a second bone adjacent to the primary repair construct. The kit also includes a tension adjusting construct that may operatively couple to the flexible member and controllable adjust a tension on the flexible member disposed between the first and second implant, the tension adjustable so as to define an angle of joint articulation at which the flexible member changes from being passive to augment the primary repair construct.

  • Patent number: 10582922
Abstract: A one-piece knotless suture anchor with a breakaway distal tip is disclosed. The suture anchor includes a thin section connecting a distal anchor portion and proximal anchor portion. The thin section has a cutaway geometry allowing it to break in a repeatable manner. Force from a driver breaks the thin section connecting the distal and proximal anchor portions. The proximal anchor portion slides distally over the elongated member (either distal or proximal to the distal eyelet) and a repair suture is pinched between the distal and proximal anchor portions, or in between the bone tunnel walls and outer diameter of the sleeve, thereby fixing the repair suture in place without tying an arthroscopic knot.

  • Patent number: 9259230
Abstract: A microfracture pick having features configured to aid a user in advancing the microfracture pick through bone. The microfracture pick has an elongated member with a proximal end, a distal end, a sharp, optionally angled tip disposed adjacent the distal end of the elongated member, and at least one engaging feature disposed at one or more locations on the elongated member for engaging a complementary feature of a strike instrument. By striking an impact surface of the strike instrument, the user can produce a force that is translated via the elongated member of the microfracture pick through the tip, thereby making penetration of the tip through the bone more effective.
