  • Publication number: 20140088516
Abstract: A visually size-gauging hollow needle assembly having a needle, stylet, and hub. At least one of a needle sleeve, needle bedding, needle attachment compound, or external indicia is size-gauging, generally by color, to indicate different sized (gauging) needles. In some embodiments, a hub sidewall has at least one external surface with at least one humanly tactilely discernible surface feature indicating the rotational relationship between the hub and the needle. An operator pinching the hub between a thumb and forefinger thus immediately feels these surface features, which may reflect the position of a needle barrel. When the assembly is rotated between the thumb and forefinger, these orientation features rotate as well, and the difference in tactile sensation immediately alerts the operator to the position of the needle bevel.

  • Patent number: 8617111
Abstract: A rotational orientation indicating hollow needle assembly having a needle, stylet, and hub. A hub sidewall has at least one external surface with at least one humanly tactilely discernible surface feature indicating the rotational relationship between the hub and the needle. Any portion of any of the assembly may bear indicia, or may be color-coded, to represent the size (gauge) of the needle, or needle type as an additional guide. In an exemplary embodiment the hub may be configured with two bevel face orientation features and two bevel orthogonal orientation features alternately spaced in a radial manner about the hub. An operator pinching the hub between a thumb and forefinger thus immediately feels these orientation features. When the assembly is rotated between the thumb and forefinger, these differing orientation features rotate as well, and the difference in tactile sensation immediately alerts the operator to the position of the needle bevel.

  • Patent number: 8613080
Abstract: Security analysis and vulnerability testing results are “packaged” or “bound to” the actual software it describes. By linking the results to the software itself, downstream users of the software can access information about the software, make informed decisions about implementation of the software, and analyze the security risk across an entire system by accessing all (or most) of the reports associated with the executables running on the system and summarizing the risks identified in the reports.
