  • Patent number: 5697644
Abstract: A low-profile modular fender flare having plural contour pieces is provided, the pieces being sized to accommodate packaging of the fender flare in a container of conventional size. The contour pieces are configured for attachment to the vehicle body, each piece being configured for attachment adjacent a particular portion of a vehicle wheel opening. The fender flare is assembled by combination of plural contour pieces including a brow piece with one or more associated leg pieces. The brow piece extends generally horizontally along an upper edge of the wheel opening. The leg pieces extend generally vertically along the side edges of the wheel opening. The brow piece defines an interior of predetermined contour, each leg piece having an alignment tab with an exterior contoured to fittedly engage the interior of the brow piece.

  • Patent number: 4685757
Abstract: A connector for connecting electrical wire comprises electrically conductive blade means having an elongated edge, guide means for guiding a wire inserted into the connector past the blade means, and retaining means for retaining the free end of the wire if doubled back and reinserted into the connector on the opposed side of the blade means. The bend formed in the wire engages the blade edge and is drawn therealong if the wire is pulled back to create a slicing action through the wire's insulator which produces a very clean high integrity electrical engagement of the wire's conductive core with the blade edge. Means are provided for wedging the bend formed in the wire tightly against the blade edge if the wire is pulled back to effect a secure mechanical connection of the wire to the blade means.

  • Patent number: 4497091
Abstract: This invention is a spring steel wire clip used to clamp and grasp objects of various size and shape. Spring steel wire is bent to form a top area from which extend two legs, each in three segments; an upper part, a crossmember and a foot. Each upper part in conjunction with the top extend downward to form a plane on a different plane than a plane formed by the top and other upper part crossmembers extend inward from the upper parts and are substantially on the same plane yet do not cross over one another. Extending downward and outward from the crossmembers are feet which are parallel to the plane of the top and upper parts from which they extend and perform the gripping function of the invention. The top is used as a grip to apply the clip in a twisting motion in relation to the object to be clamped such that the upper parts and crossmembers are reversed while the orientation of the feet remain constant resulting in a clamping action.
