  • Patent number: 11624186
Abstract: A wall assembly includes tracks structured to be coupled to supports and wall studs coupled to the tracks. The wall studs include a first sidewall, a first web coupled to the first sidewall and a second sidewall coupled to the first web to define a first channel. The wall studs further include a second web coupled to the second sidewall and a third sidewall coupled to the second web to define a second channel as well as a third web coupled to the third sidewall and a fourth sidewall coupled to the third web to define a third channel. The second web is offset from the first web and the third web to isolate each of the channels and attenuate sound waves. Further, the studs may include one or more openings for further isolation and to reduce the amount of steel in the studs, which reduces cost.

  • Patent number: 11619046
Abstract: An adjustable header assembly includes a first piece of material and a second piece of material and at least one bracket. The first piece of material has a fixed length and the second piece of material has an adjustable length. In operation, the length of the second piece of material is adjusted until the second piece of material is proximate wall studs. The second piece of material is then coupled to the studs and the at least one bracket is coupled to the first and second pieces of material.

  • Publication number: 20220074198
Abstract: An acoustic damping structural system includes studs, tracks, and acoustic damping members. The studs and tracks include a first wall, a second wall, and a third wall that define a channel. The third wall includes a first portion perpendicular to the first wall, a second portion perpendicular to the first portion, and a third portion perpendicular to the second portion to define a ledge along a length of the third wall. The tracks are coupled to a support, such as floor joists and roof beams, in parallel. Opposite ends of the studs are received in the channels of the tracks, with the acoustic damping members received on and coupled to the ledges of pairs of the studs and pairs of the tracks. The acoustic damping members are planar with the ledges and the studs and tracks, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20210388608
Abstract: A channel strut includes a support member with a first tab and a second tab coupled to the support member. A layer of material, such as foam, is disposed on the channel strut. The support member has a low profile and is configured to be attached to successive wall studs via the first and second tabs. The channel strut is attached to wall studs proximate a location with frequent occurrences of sound and vibration, such as studs behind kitchen cabinets, behind door stops, or behind dresser drawings. The layer of material is configured to provide a damping force to reduce sound and vibration at the installed location.

  • Patent number: 9771715
Abstract: An acoustic dampening dual-stud construction member is disclosed herein. The dual-stud construction member is composed of two single studs adhered to each other with an acoustic dampening material and spaced a fixed distance apart from each other as a single unitary member which may be used in building construction. Walls having a high sound transmission coefficient may be quickly and easily assembled using the unitary member composed of two studs.
