  • Patent number: 8640264
Abstract: By adding a second smaller bill under the main bill of a cap and creating a gap from the front to the back between the two bills, the two bills create a curved shape that acts like an airfoil and allows the free flow of air over a wearer's forehead, inducing a cooling effect. Besides the benefit of a cooling effect, the appearance of the hat is such that an observer looking at someone wearing it would not be able to tell there was anything overtly different about the design.

  • Publication number: 20120000006
Abstract: By adding a second smaller bill under the main bill of a baseball cap and creating a gap between the two bills, the upper bill creates a raised curve that acts like an airfoil and allows the free flow of air over a wearer's forehead, inducing a cooling effect. Besides the benefit of a cooling effect, the appearance of the hat is such that an observer looking at someone wearing it would not be able to tell there was anything overtly different about the design.

  • Publication number: 20080195376
Abstract: Effective communication between people that speak different languages can be easily facilitated via a portable electronic device, such as a cell phone, that has a translation program and a set of words in both languages that are selected to convey a wide range of universal concepts. Users can scroll though a set of categories and select words for immediate translation into a visual or auditory result. The carefully selected words in the translation matrix can be arranged by a user to convey almost every concept in casual conversation.

  • Patent number: 7394183
Abstract: An apparatus constructed from a combination of a magnetic north orienting lodestone, magnetostrictive ferrogel, and piezoelectric crystals can generate electrical current when exposed to kinetic motion. The apparatus is built in the shape of a geodesic sphere with two sections, an inner sphere with a lodestone in the center surrounded by outward-facing magnets, and an outer sphere with sections of stacked magnetostrictive ferrogel and piezoelectric crystals interspaced with inward-facing magnets. Upon the apparatus being given a kinetic impulse, the inner sphere will orient to magnetic north, which will cause the outward-facing magnets to pass next to stacks of ferrogel/piezoelectric crystals. The ferrogel will react by physically changing in size, imparting an impulse to the piezoelectric crystal, which will in turn release a pulse of electrical current.
