The component also has a cover layer (2) formed of a coating, said layer being sprayed onto the base element (1), wherein during spraying, the coating is guided through one or more supply channels (16), which extend continuously through the base element (1) to the front side (10) and/or to one or more side surfaces (15). During spraying, the coating is flooded onto at least part of the side surfaces (15).
