  • Publication number: 20100135730
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for forming a mono pile foundation in soil for a wind turbine tower including drilling a plurality of holes into the soil, the plurality of holes being arranged along a curve having a contour corresponding to a cross-dimensional shape of the mono pile, and placing the mono pile in an annular cavity, the annular cavity being formed by the plurality of holes alone and/or by the mono pile breaking up intermediate soil walls between adjacent holes in the plurality of holes while being placed therein. A foundation in soil for a wind turbine tower, a wind turbine comprising such a foundation, and use of such a foundation in a wind turbine is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100126079
Abstract: A wind power plant includes a tower, the tower including at least one tower section provided with at least one flange and forming at least part of the wall of the tower. The power plant further includes an element provided with at least one flange and adapted to be installed adjacent the tower section. The tower section and the element have abutting flanges, the flanges being releasably interconnected by sets of bolts and nuts. At least one surface associated with each set of bolt and nut and facing away from the flanges is provided with a plurality of recesses for receiving projections of a tightening device. A method of joining a tower section and an adjacent element is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100122508
Abstract: This invention relates to a tower for a wind turbine, comprising one or more tubular tower sections, having an outer jacket wall and an inward directed flange in its lower and upper ends, and at least one platform arranged inside the tower for facilitating access for maintenance and repairs to the inner of the tower and to the nacelle. The tower also comprises a support structure including at least three elongated tensile load carrying members, which each is attached in its upper end to the upper flange of the tower section and in its lower end to the lower flange of the tower section and which supports one or more platforms that are suspended by the tensile load carrying members while at least one ladder is attached to the platforms. The at least one ladder is stabilized in the horizontal direction by transversal tensile load carrying members extending from the ladder to the tensile load carrying members that are vertically arranged between the upper and lower flanges.

  • Publication number: 20080034675
Abstract: The invention relates to a tower part (6) for a wind turbine (1) comprising at least one wall segment (9) and at least one aperture segment (10) including at least one aperture (7). The wall segment (9) and the aperture segment (10) being connected by connecting means and the aperture segment (10) is of a substantially uniform thickness and is thicker than the thickness of the wall segment (9). The invention further relates to an aperture cover system for covering at least one aperture (7) in a tower part (6) for a wind turbine (1). The system comprising cover plates and attachment means for attaching the system to the tower part (6), wherein the attachment means do not affect the fatigue limit of the tower part (6). Finally the invention relates to a method for manufacturing a wind turbine tower part (6) and uses hereof.
