Abstract: The invention relates to a fast earthing switch including two contact members of which at least one contact member is movable along an actuation direction in relation to the other contact member between a closed position, in which the contact members are electrically connected, and an open position, in which the contact members are electrically unconnected, the contact members defining an arcing region in which an arc is generated during a current interrupting operation and in which an arc-quenching medium is present; and an insulating member that is electrically insulating; wherein the movable contact member includes a first channel that at least sectionally extends along the actuation direction, the insulating member includes a second channel that at least sectionally extends along the actuation direction, the insulating member and the movable contact member are coupled to each other and the channels are in fluid communication to direct the arc-quenching medium.

Abstract: A casing for a circuit breaker includes a main body, an annular tube, and a rupture device. The main body includes an end cover attached to an end of the main body. The annular tube extending from the end cover on an outside of the end cover. The annular tube includes a desiccant holder configured to house a desiccant configured to remove moisture from a gas inside the casing. The rupture device is configured to regulate pressure of the gas housed inside the casing and is detachably mounted to the annular tube at an end thereof remote from the end cover and/or the annular tube is detachably attached to the end cover, and wherein a spacing defined by the desiccant holder is accessible from an end of the annular tube.

Abstract: The invention relates to a gas insulated electric apparatus comprising an insulating tube, an electric high voltage appliance arranged inside the insulating tube and a permeation barrier arranged within the insulating tube and circumferentially surrounding the electric high voltage appliance, whereby the insulating tube contains an insulation gas comprising at least 70% by volume of CO2 and/or N2 and comprising an elevated and pre-determined operating gas pressure level, and the permeation barrier comprises polyvinyl alcohol, ethylene vinyl alcohol, aluminum oxide and/or polyurethane.
