  • Patent number: 10447552
Abstract: A system and method for predictive maintenance of multifunction peripherals includes a data collection agent configured to receive and store simple network management protocol (SNMP) data including metered data from one or more multifunction peripherals, and a service prediction system configured to selectively perform linear regression analysis on one or more of the metered data to predict one or more service events for at least one multifunction peripheral based on the linear regression analysis. Notifications for each predicted service event are sent to service technicians associated with the associated multifunction peripheral. Service technicians can preemptively perform service and maintenance functions on the multifunctional peripherals before error or faults occur on the multifunction peripherals.

  • Patent number: 10359981
Abstract: A system and method for multifunction peripheral data collection includes a network data connection with one or more multifunction peripherals and at least one peer data collector. A memory stores address data identifying each of a set of multifunction peripherals tasked for data collection. A processor initiates data transfer sessions in accordance with stored address data with each of the plurality of multifunction peripherals to retrieve device report data. Device report data from each successful data transfer session is retrieved and each device with an unsuccessful data transfer session is identified. A collection report is generated from retrieved device report data and this report is sent to an associated networked server. A generated problem list is sent to at least one other one networked device for further data collection and processing.

  • Publication number: 20190095144
Abstract: A system and method for printer communication with a designated device includes receiving an electronic document from a source device for printing as a print job. A print monitor monitors a status of the print job. A processor receives a status reporting instruction designating at least one designated device for print status reporting. A notice is sent informing each designated device that it has been designated to receive a status of the print job. Print job status is sent to each designated device via a network interface. Messaging between the printer and a designated device is done in an interactive, character inclusive protocol with the protocol corresponding to address information supplied for a designated device.

  • Publication number: 20180240022
Abstract: A system and method for predictive object identifier (OID) field identification for multifunction peripherals includes a processor configured to walk the managed information base (MIB) of a multifunction peripheral having unidentified OIDs, and save simple network management protocol (SNMP) data associated with the unidentified OIDs to a database. A machine learning process compares data associated with the unidentified OIDs with training data derived from prior training of the machine learning process to predict one or more candidate OID field types for one or several unidentified OIDs. One of the candidate OID field types can be selected by a user as the predicted OID field type, and the selection can be used to improve the training of the machine learning process. The machine learning process can be trained using data derived from walking the MIB of a plurality of multifunction peripherals having known MIBs and OIDs.
