  • Publication number: 20080160500
Abstract: Apparatus and method for analysing a biological fluid sample to determine a disturbance of haemostasis resulting in a change of viscosity.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20070134801
Abstract: An apparatus and method for determining the coagulation status of a liquid, especially blood. The apparatus includes a chamber (1) for holding a quantity of said liquid, a body (2) disposed in the chamber and a magnetic device (4,5), the magnetic device co-operating with said chamber and being arranged in use to provide a magnetic field which causes the body to migrate to and from within the chamber through uncoagulated liquid. The body is other than a particle, and the cross-sectional area of the body measured in a pane generally perpendicular to its normal direction of travel in use may be at least half that of the chamber in the same plane.

  • Publication number: 20050154438
Abstract: A medical electrode system and method comprises four measuring electrode elements and optional reference electrodes each presenting a skin contactable conducting electrode surface, the four elements adapted to be mounted in use on the skin surface of a selected part of the human or animal body so as to be disposed in a generally orthogonal arrangement with the outputs therefrom being arranged and processed so as to connect the electrode elements either as opposing differential pairs or as potentials with respect to the reference electrode(s) where present
    Type: Application

    Publication date: July 14, 2005
    Inventors: Jonathan Fuller, Daniel Strother
  • Publication number: 20050119583
Abstract: A heart rate monitor apparatus and method are described. The apparatus consists of multiple recording electrodes each incorporated into a contact surface for application to an external body surface of a human or animal subject and a data acquisition and processing system to process the data by way at least of the steps of producing a frequency and/or signal intensity based data characterisation and inferring and outputting therefrom a result representative of the heart beat rate of the subject. In particular the data processing method involves deriving the result by identifying a peak in the frequency and/or by signal intensity based data characterisation for example by producing a power density spectrum, identifying the peak power frequency and, outputting the result as a result representative of the heart beat rate of the subject.

  • Patent number: 6275962
Abstract: A remote test module is disclosed for selectively interfacing a plurality of test channels between a tester interface and a plurality of specialized pins connected to a device-under-test. The tester interface is coupled to a test controller for generating predetermined test signals. The remote test module includes a signal conditioner responsive to the test controller for modifying said predetermined test signals into module test signals and applying the module test signals to the specialized pins of the device-under-test and a connection apparatus. The connection apparatus has a plurality of conductive paths for coupling the signal conditioner between the tester interface and the specialized pins.

  • Patent number: 4934472
Abstract: A power assisted steering system which utilizes a brushless electric motor having a rotor and a wound stator. The rotor is directly connected to the steering shaft 12 rotated by a driver of the vehicle, and is formed by a number of permanent magnets secured in respective recesses on the steering shaft. The controller 17 associated with the steering system is arranged to switch off the motor 15 above a pre-determined vehicle speed.

  • Patent number: 4765648
Abstract: The system comprises a spring between the vehicle body and each wheel, a shock absorber associated with each spring and which is switchable electromagnetically between soft and hard settings, one or more accelerometers measuring vertical acceleration of the vehicle body, an electronic filter for filtering the signals from the accelerometer to select a band width of frequencies, either side of the primary ride frequency of the vehicle, and control means for switching the shock absorbers between the soft and hard settings whenever a pre-determined level of vertical motion within this band width is exceeded either in the bump or rebound directions.
