  • Patent number: 12655880
Abstract: A brake rotor includes a one-piece rotor body constructed of stainless steel. The rotor body has a first portion at a central region of the rotor adapted to be coupled to a vehicle's wheel, an annular second portion adjoining and circumscribing the first portion, and an annular third portion adjoining and circumscribing the second portion. The second portion has regions of ablated surfaces. The third portion has opposing braking surfaces. Aluminum coats the regions of ablated surfaces.

  • Patent number: 12117056
Abstract: A disc brake rotor includes an annular portion having a first surface and a second surface in opposition to the first surface. The first surface and second surface traverse a periodic wave. An inner radial edge of the annular portion traverses an inner periodic wave and an outer radial edge of the annular portion traverses an outer periodic wave. A pattern and a period are the same for the periodic wave, the inner periodic wave, and the outer periodic wave. Thermal radiation elements are coupled to portions of at least one of the inner radial edge and the outer radial edge.

  • Publication number: 20230092893
Abstract: An ultraviolet germicidal door handle includes a germicidal ultraviolet light source mounted at an end of the door handle that includes a capacitive or other MEMS sensor(s) which detects a user's touch or movement operation and initiates activation and timing operation of the ultraviolet germicidal light source. Ultraviolet germicidal light emitted from the light source is directed as a column along a circumferential length of the door handle, thereby providing a germicidal action/effect on all touching surfaces of the door handle.

  • Patent number: 8677630
Abstract: A utility knife has a receiving cavity which opens through the body. A cartridge comprising a magazine of blades is removably insertable into the receiving cavity. A carrier within the body is manually operable for receiving a blade from the cartridge and positioning the blade for extension through the opening to present a cutting edge. The cartridge may be released from the utility knife body by depressing a button and withdrawing the cartridge. The cartridge is releasably held in place within the knife body and releasable when the blade carrier is in its retracted position and the release button is depressed. When the thumb button moves the blade carrier into its extended position to expose the knife blade, the cartridge is rendered unreleaseable even if the release button is depressed.

  • Patent number: 8196624
Abstract: A pencil sharpener has an electrical motor which drives a sharpening assembly. The end of the pencil to be sharpened is inserted downwardly into an opening in the top surface. Shavings from the sharpening process are deposited in a drawer-like receptacle below the sharpening assembly. A switch is provided so that the sharpening assembly will not be activated when the receptacle drawer is removed for disposal of the shavings.

  • Patent number: 7861355
Abstract: A retractable eraser has an elongated contoured housing which has a longitudinal slot and spaced detents and an opening at one end. A carrier has a button which is depressible so that a catch clears the detents to permit selective longitudinal displacement of the carrier. An oval shaped eraser element is mounted to the carrier and displaced into and out of the housing so as, in one position, to project beyond the housing. Bristles project longitudinally from the housing around the opening.
