  • Patent number: 10366642
Abstract: A multiplane display system that includes two or more display devices provided at two or more layers. One or more of these display devices is a transparent transmissive display device. Foreground or first layer content is generated for and displayed by a first transparent transmissive display device while background content is generated for and displayed by a second display device, which is in a spaced apart plane or layer that is behind the plane or layer of the first display device. In some embodiments, the two layers of content are pre-generated and played back to provide 3D or multiplane imagery or an interactivity assembly can be provided to sense user input and, in response, to generate new or modified content (media) for the first and/or second transparent transmissive display devices. Each of the transparent transmissive display devices or layer may be a transparent organic light emitted diode (tOLED) display device.

  • Patent number: 10300389
Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) gaming system of the present description includes 3D eyewear for each player that allows the player wearing the 3D eyewear to view the surrounding physical space. The 3D eyewear in conjunction with operation of a 3D display assembly of the AR gaming system allows the player to see other players while they also perceive 3D augmentation content that is rendered based on that particular player's tracked location. For example, the 3D augmentation content may include a game object that moves about the virtual gaming environment/space during the game as two (or more) players play the game such as by interacting with the game object via movement of their hand(s) with the movement/location being tracked. The AR gaming system generates the 3D augmentation content to correctly represent the present location of the game object relative to their location and view point.

  • Patent number: 10238976
Abstract: A system for providing an interactive experience for multiple game-players. The experience is provided in a light-controlled setting where the game-players may wear or hold one or more of various toys (e.g., gloves). The system detects and recognizes the toy along with gestures and pointing efforts performed by the game-player and the system generates an effect based on the type of toy and the type of gesture. The system also generates one or more visual targets that are visible to the game-player such as projections, holograms, and displays of one or more of various fantasy virtual adversaries. The generated effects may include any combination of sensory effects including visual, audio, tactile, and smell/taste. The generated effect may be directed based on the pointing efforts of the game-player. The system may then register the effect on the target, if the pointing efforts intersect with the virtual location of the target.

  • Patent number: 10092844
Abstract: There is provided a system and method for generation of vision recognition references from user-selected content. The method comprises receiving data corresponding to a user selected content, generating a vision recognition reference from the data, associating a game behavior descriptor with the vision recognition reference, wherein the game behavior descriptor correspond to a game behavior instance, and storing the vision recognition reference and the associated game behavior descriptor in a database, wherein the database includes a plurality of pre-defined vision recognition references, and wherein each of the plurality of pre-defined vision recognition references correspond to at least one pre-defined game behavior descriptor. The method may further comprise receiving user input corresponding to the user-selected content, retrieving the vision recognition reference and the associated game behavior descriptor from the database and initiating the game behavior in a corresponding game.

  • Patent number: 9843744
Abstract: A process and system capture infrared light that is reflected or emitted from a device to precisely locate the device. The process and system project visible light from a light source toward the device such that the light is precisely targeted at the device. Preferably the visible light passes through an atmosphere containing particulate matter rendering the visible light as a beam that appears to emanate from the device rather than from the light source.

  • Patent number: 9120021
Abstract: An interactive system adapted for lean-based control of ride or video game experiences. The system includes a vehicle seat and a motion base with a vehicle base upon which the vehicle seat is mounted. The system includes an actuator assembly moving the vehicle base and seat. A control system interprets sensor input signals and generates control signals to operate the actuator assembly to move the vehicle base and seat. Force sensors positioned in the vehicle seat sense forces applied by the passenger to the vehicle seat and transmit sensor data signals to the control system. The control signals operating the driver assembly are generated based on the sensor data, which is output from left and right sensors provided in a bench of the vehicle seat as well as in a front and a back support to provide X and Y-axis values based on passenger leaning in the vehicle seat.

  • Patent number: 8892087
Abstract: A system and method is provided for remotely controlling and interacting with a multimedia device using a mobile phone. This is accomplished by utilizing cell and mobile phones capable of establishing persistent Internet connections. A software application is provided for the mobile phone that receives inputs entered by a user on the mobile phone's keypad and translates the inputs into commands that are recognized by a multimedia device. For example, the multimedia device may be a television, set top box, or a digital video recorder such as a Tivo or ReplayTV. The software application transmits the data input by the user to the device, either directly, or through at least one central server. Mapping of the commands entered on the mobile phone into commands recognized by the remote device may occur on the phone, at a central server, or at the device itself.
