  • Patent number: 10979806
Abstract: An audio system having a depth capturing device and a microphone array to respectively detect a point cloud and a local sound field, is described. The point cloud includes points corresponding to objects in a source space, and the local sound field includes sounds received in respective directions from the source space. The audio system includes one or more processors to generate a global sound field based on distances to the points and directions of the sounds. The global sound field includes virtual sound sources emitting respective sounds at respective points. A speaker can render the virtual sound sources to a user in a virtual space that corresponds to the source space.

  • Patent number: 10976277
Abstract: The invention relates to detecting a composition of a sample or contamination in liquids by detecting corresponding changes in their thermal properties. In a disclosed arrangement, an apparatus is provided comprising a first probe element configured to provide a first surface in direct contact with the sample and a second surface that is not in direct contact with the sample. A measurement system measures a rate of heat transfer through the first surface. A processing unit analyses the measured rate of heat transfer in order to detect a heat transfer characteristic of the sample that is indicative of a composition of the sample.

  • Patent number: 10973659
Abstract: An arrangement for the preparation of the proximal surface of the tibia for a tibia component of a prosthetic knee joint, wherein the arrangement includes a preparation plate that assists in defining a reference plane. A cutting guide arrangement includes an indicator that provides orientation for a cutting blade or saw to cut the final bone resection of the proximal surface of the tibia the same as the reference plane. There is also a mounting arrangement between the joint liner and the cutting guide arrangement, so that in a first mounting position the indicator of the cutting guide is aligned with the same referenced plane defined by the underside of the joint liner and wherein the mounting arrangement also provides a second mounted position wherein the indicator of the cutting guide is aligned with the same referenced plane orientation of the underside of the joint liner but below the initial resected proximal surface of the tibia where the final resection of bone will take place.

  • Patent number: 10979048
Abstract: Circuits and methods for switching between an internal clock and an external clock without causing an interruption or an artifact in the switched clock signal are disclosed. To achieve this, the internal clock signal is synchronized with the external clock signal prior to switching. The synchronization may be accomplished using two possible clock-synchronization methods: a first method that passively waits for the clocks to synchronize over time and a second that adjusts a period of the internal clock signal to actively synchronize the clocks. The method selected for use requires the fewest clock cycles to reach synchronization, which is determined by a frequency difference between the two clock frequencies. After clock-synchronization, the output clock signal spectrum will be substantially the same before and after switching between the clock signals, and therefore is suitable for use with spread spectrum clocks.

  • Patent number: 10976578
Abstract: A privacy display comprises a polarised output spatial light modulator, reflective polariser, plural polar control retarders and a polariser. In a privacy mode of operation, on-axis light from the spatial light modulator is directed without loss, whereas off-axis light has reduced luminance. Further, display reflectivity is reduced for on-axis reflections of ambient light, while reflectivity is increased for off-axis light. The visibility of the display to off-axis snoopers is reduced by means of luminance reduction and increased frontal reflectivity to ambient light. In a public mode of operation, the liquid crystal retardance is adjusted so that off-axis luminance and reflectivity are unmodified.

  • Patent number: 10977027
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to system(s) and method(s) for deploying a java agent in runtime. The method creates a .WAR file associated with a java agent. The .WAR file corresponds to a servlet configured to run the java agent. The method further determines an existence of a reference holder class in a bootstrap class loader using the servlet. Based on the determination of the reference holder class, the method connects the servlet to a Java Virtual Machine (JVM). The servlet is connected to the JVM using an open source library. Further, the method deploys the java agent in real-time based on a deployment of a bootstrap class using the servlet. The bootstrap class holds a reference to the java agent. The bootstrap class acts as the reference holder class.

  • Patent number: 10976688
Abstract: In one example of the disclosure, a first measurement of actual quantity of ink in a target cartridge is taken utilizing a scale. An incremental dosage quantity be deposited into the target cartridge in a dosing pass is determined based upon a desired quantity, the actual quantity, and an undershoot safety factor. A valve is opened to enable a pressure deposit of the incremental dosage quantity of ink to the target cartridge, and then closed. A residue cutter is utilized to scrape the valve and thereby make a scraper deposit of ink to the target cartridge. A second measurement of actual quantity of ink in the target cartridge is taken utilizing the scale. An additional dosage pass is performed if the second measurement is not within an accepted variance of the desired quantity. The making of dosing passes is discontinued if the second measurement is within the accepted variance.

  • Patent number: 10978195
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to devices and processes for monitoring attributes of a user's physical activity (e.g., workout) or inactivity, and to user interfaces (e.g., an activity indicator) for displaying the same. In some examples, a device determines whether physical activity corresponds to a first type based on a first set of criteria, and whether physical activity corresponds to a second type based on a second set of criteria. In some examples, the device controls an inactivity timer that measures user's inactivity. In some examples, the device displays a first visual representation of an attribute or amount of a first type of physical activity, and a second visual representation of an attribute or amount of a second type. In some examples, the device displays a third visual representation of an attribute or amount of a third type of activity. In some examples, the third visual representation corresponds to user's inactivity.

  • Patent number: 10974859
Abstract: A polymeric container including a base, a body, a finish, finish threads, and a tamper lip. The body extends from the base. The finish defines an opening through which a product can pass into, and out of, an internal volume of the container defined at least in part by the body. The finish threads are at an outer surface of the finish, and are configured to cooperate with closure threads of a closure to secure the closure to the finish. The tamper lip extends from the outer surface of the finish, and is configured to replace the support flange during handling, and to cooperate with a tamper band of the closure. A recess is below the tamper lip. The recess retains the tamper band therein when the closure is removed from cooperation with the finish.

  • Patent number: 10974546
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus for automated vehicle wheel removal and replacement are provided. One system includes a computer system with applications for scheduling the replacement of tires for the vehicle. An electronically controlled lift device and robotic apparatus is configured for interaction with the computer system. The lift device mechanically adjusts arms for placement on lift points of vehicles. The robotic apparatus detects positioning of lug nut configuration for a wheel, removes lug nuts, and then removes the wheel from the wheel hub with gripping arms. The wheel and tire are then handed off to a separate tire changing machine. When a new tire is replaced the robotic apparatus then mounts the wheel to the original wheel hub, and then secures the lug nuts to the lug nut bolts.
