Abstract: In one embodiment, network parameters are dynamically adjusted using weather forecasts. The embodiments include determining a weather forecast that predicts a weather condition proximate to a network. Network parameters are then selected for adjustment based on the predicted weather condition. The selected network parameters are adjusted to improve performance of the network in response to the predicted weather condition.

Abstract: A network based system for comparing options resulting from a query, the system comprising a computer accessible from at least one remote location, the computer being configured to provide a user interface, the user interface being capable of receiving query related information from the remote location. The computer is further capable of performing a query related to the query related information, and determine query results representing a plurality of options relating to the query, and form a representation graph representing the plurality of options, the representation graph having a plurality of data points, each data point representing at least one of the plurality of options, wherein the relative location of a data point within the presentation graph is determined in relation to the location of at least one other data point, the relation representing at least one parameter of the option, and to display the presentation graph.

Abstract: Computerized methods are provided herein for remotely configuring a driver operable to power an illumination system, over a wide area network. A configuration request is received by a configuration server over the wide area network to configure the driver. The configuration request is from a configuration client operatively attached over the wide area network to the configuration server. The driver is configured by transmitting instructions from the configuration server to the configuration client to produce a driver configuration. A data base attached to the configuration server is updated based on the driver configuration.

Abstract: A system for processing a batch job comprises a processor and a memory. The processor is configured to receive a job name for a job submitted to execute, to receive one or more job parameters, and to determine one or more nodes to run the job. The processor is configured to determine one or steps, where for each step: a step is executed on a node using a state of data associated with a start state of the step; and upon completion of executing the step, a result is stored to a durable storage. The durable storage stores the state of data associated with the start state of the step and the completion state of the step and are accessible by other execution processes as associated with either the start state of the step or the completion state of the step. The memory of the system is coupled to the processor and configured to provide processor with instructions.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for processing flexible glass are disclosed. The flexible glass is directed along a conveyance path through a glass laminate processing apparatus. The glass laminate processing apparatus includes a glass laminate pay-out spool paying out flexible glass and a first laminate material electrostatically pinned to each other in a glass laminate. The glass laminate processing apparatus also includes at least one electrostatic charging head positioned downstream of a pay-out spool, where the electrostatic charging head neutralizes an electrostatic charge on at least one of the flexible glass or the first laminate material that are electrostatically pinned to each another in the glass laminate. The glass laminate processing apparatus further includes a laminate material take-up spool positioned downstream of the electrostatic device collecting the first laminate material.

Abstract: Various different areas of interest are identified, these areas being geographic areas that are also referred to as geo-fences. Whether a computing device is in a geo-fence can be determined based on the location of the geo-fence and the location of the computing device. The location of a computing device can be determined using various different location determination techniques, such as wireless networking triangulation, cellular positioning, Global Navigation Satellite System positioning, network address positioning, and so forth. Various power saving techniques are implemented to determine which techniques are used and when such techniques are used to reduce power consumption in the computing device.

Abstract: A method for decontaminating a medical device includes enclosing the medical device in an enclosure including a fog-permeable layer and an exterior port member coupled to the fog-permeable layer. The exterior port member of the enclosure is coupled to a chemical dispersing interface in a decontamination chamber. A pressure in the decontamination chamber is reduced to a sub-atmospheric pressure in a first evacuation step. A room temperature decontaminating fluid is introduced as a fog into the decontamination chamber. The fog is held in the decontamination chamber for a decontaminating time. The pressure in the decontamination chamber is reduced to a sub-atmospheric pressure in a second evacuation step. The decontamination chamber is vented to atmospheric pressure.

Abstract: Content access may be provided and processed by assigning responsibility for obtaining entitlement data to the client's browser. Thus, in one example, the client may be configured to synchronize and coordinate data lookups associated with a content request, rather than relying on the server to do so. The network architecture may use a mediator design pattern, in which the client's browser acts as the mediator (i.e., middleman) between a content server and an entitlement data server. Accordingly, synchronous calls between server-side services might not be required. Instead, data necessary for the content server to process a client request for access to protected content may be received in the incoming request from the client's browser.

Abstract: The subject disclosure is directed towards using one or more of hardware, a hypervisor, and privileged mode code to prevent system mode code from accessing user mode data and/or running user mode code at the system privilege level, or vice-versa. Also described is (in systems with a hypervisor) preventing non-hypervisor code from running in hypervisor mode or accessing hypervisor-only data, or vice-versa. A register maintained by hardware, hypervisor, or system mode code contains data access and execution polices for different chunks of addressable space with respect to which requesting entities (hypervisor mode code, system mode code, user mode code) have access to or can execute code in a given chunk. When a request to execute code or access data with respect to an address is received, the request is processed to determine to which chunk the address corresponds. The policy for that chunk is evaluated to determine whether to allow or deny the request.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable storage media for generating digital wayfinding maps are described. A system for generating digital wayfinding maps may be configured to connect individual map units, such as map units configured to represent floors in a building. Portal nodes may be arranged on the map units that are configured to represent connection points between map units. Connection elements may be used to connect the map units through the portal nodes. For instance, for a building digital wayfinding map including floor map units, the connection elements may represent elevators, stairways and/or escalators. The connection elements and the portal nodes may be used to connect the map units to generate multi-unit routes that traverse multiple map units. Routes between points of interest on different map units may be presented to a user as a single navigable route using the connection elements and the portal nodes.

Abstract: A nacelle assembly according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a core nacelle defined at least partially about a core engine, a fan nacelle mounted at least partially around the core nacelle to define a fan bypass flow path, and a variable area fan nozzle in communication with the fan bypass flow path. The variable area fan nozzle has a first fan nacelle section and a second fan nacelle section downstream of the first fan nacelle section. The first fan nacelle section and the second fan nacelle section are axially movable relative to one another to define an auxiliary port to vary a fan nozzle exit area and adjust fan bypass airflow. The auxiliary port is defined between the first fan nacelle section and the second fan nacelle section. The first fan nacelle section comprises a first acoustic system which provides an acoustic impedance configured to attenuate a noise characterized by a leading edge of the second fan nacelle section.

In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, by a processor, a value to be processed, and notification of a function to be applied to the value. The value is represented in a floating point format. The value is converted, by the processor, to a fixed point format. Which of Newton-Raphson and polynomial approximation is to be used to apply the function to the value in the fixed point format is determined by the processor. The function is applied to the value in the fixed point format to generate a result in the fixed point format. The result is converted to the floating point format by the processor.

Abstract: During a pairing procedure between an electronic device and a host system, the host system may output audiovisual data that communicates wireless pairing information. The electronic device may detect the audiovisual data and determine the wireless pairing information by processing the audiovisual data that it detects. The wireless pairing information may facilitate pairing the electronic device to the host system in accordance with the short-range wireless communication protocol.

Abstract: A patient support apparatus includes a frame and seat, thigh, and head sections coupled to the frame. A linkage is coupled to the head, seat, and thigh sections. The linkage has a first mode of operation in which the seat and thigh sections remain substantially parallel to each other as the head section is raised and lowered and the linkage has a second mode of operation in which the thigh section tilts relative to the seat section as the head section is raised and lowered. A handle is movable relative to the head section between a first position in which the linkage is in the first mode of operation and a second position in which the linkage is in the second mode of operation.

Abstract: A process is provided for providing network content to a client computing device by one or more content providers in conjunction with a network computing provider. The client computing device requests a network resource from the network computing provider. The network computing provider processes the network resource request to identify embedded resources associated with the network resource, and determines whether any version of the network resource or associated embedded resources are available in a cache or data store associated with the network computing provider. The network computing provider provides the determined available content to the client computing device for storage or initial processing, and requests the most recent version of the network resource from a content provider. The network computing provider may obtain any additional content from the content provider or a content delivery network provider.

Abstract: An API including a registration function and a configuration function, is provided to an optical networking apparatus to facilitate registration of configuration specification delimiter pairs by service routines of function blocks of multi-protocol optical networking modules (MPONM), and extraction of configuration specifications for the function blocks from a configuration specification input set using the registered configuration specification delimiter pairs. In one embodiment, the configuration function also receives current configuration of the function blocks, and merges the received current configurations of the function blocks into a configuration specification output set, separating the merged configuration specification using the registered configuration specification delimiters.
