  • Patent number: 12570680
Abstract: Among the various aspects of the present disclosure is the provision of compositions of mechanically interlocked, topologically complex crosslinkers and polymers and methods of making and using same.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 19, 2021
Date of Patent: March 10, 2026
    Assignee: Washington University

  • Publication number: 20250075041
Abstract: Compositions of saltwater-stable adhesive hydrogels are provided, as well as methods of use thereof in adhesion, drug delivery, antibiotic delivery, surface coating, and antifouling applications. Disclosed copolymer complexes exhibit reversible ionic strength-based solubility between a soluble complex and an insoluble hydrogel, and include a first polynorbornene (PNB)-based bottlebrush copolymer including a plurality of ?-cyclodextrin (?-CD)-terminated oligoethylene glycol sidechains and a second PNB-based bottlebrush copolymer including a plurality of positively charged adamantane (Ad)-terminated oligoviologen sidechains. In some embodiments, the second PNB-based bottlebrush copolymer further includes at least one porphyrin-terminated sidechain and/or has at least one electrostatically loaded, negatively charged therapeutic drug.

  • Publication number: 20240408522
Abstract: A polymer comprising a pathogen inactivating component such that the pathogen inactivating component is released continuously over time by the ablation or sacrifice of the polymer. The polymer may be incorporated onto or into an air filter.

  • Publication number: 20230280031
Abstract: An improved gas fireplace hearth provides a controller and can perform new features. A pressure sensor may be provided to communicate to the controller to warn of a drop of inlet gas pressure to indicate a problem with gas service rather than the hearth. An ambient temperature sensor can provide an input to the controller for various features including a safety feature to shut off gas flow if the hearth becomes too hot. The hearth can be made more efficient by having the controller implement a zero voltage alternating current system to adjust the speed of the fan, flame height, lighting, BTU output or other feature.

  • Publication number: 20220322878
Abstract: An outdoor grill has a processor and remote-controlled valves (electronic or digital) whereby the processor directs gas flow to at least one burner below a grate. Sensors can be utilized to maintain temperature at the grate. A meat probe can be used to provide input to the processor to reduce temperature upon reaching a predetermined value. The processor may wirelessly communicate with a portable computing device for remote control or monitoring of status.
