  • Publication number: 20250091196
Abstract: A robotic crawler is provided. The robotic crawler includes a first crawler system configured to engage and selectively couple with a surface. A second crawler system is spaced apart from the first crawler system and configured to engage and selectively couple with the surface. A linkage is coupled between the first crawler system and the second crawler system, the linkage having an actuator and a bar member. A controller is operably coupled to the first crawler system, the second crawler system and the actuator, the controller being configured to selectively operate the actuator and move one of the first crawler system or the second crawler system from a first position to a second position.

  • Patent number: 12179348
Abstract: A bi-directional robotic crawler includes a first drive system having a first drive member, a second drive member, and a support member. The first drive member includes a first pair of wheels and the second drive member includes a second pair of wheels. A second drive system includes a third drive member and a fourth drive member. The third drive member includes a first drive element and the fourth drive member includes a second drive element. A linking member selectively pivots the third drive member and the fourth drive member relative to the support member. A motor is mounted to the first drive system. The motor selectively operates the first and second pairs of wheels to move the bi-directional robotic crawler along a first axis and the first and second drive elements to move the bi-directional robotic crawler along a second axis.

  • Patent number: 11713635
Abstract: A modular mobility platform has extendable and retractable tractor treads for engaging the walls of a downhole environment. The extendable and retractable tractor treads allow the platform to successfully navigate longitudinally through the downhole environment. The platform is composed of a plurality of different modules removably interconnected together longitudinally. Each module has at least one specific function, such as sensing, navigation, mobility, control, communication, power, or a combination thereof. The platform has longitudinally-directed detectors for detecting the forward or reverse direction through which the platform is to travel. A system and method use the modular mobility platform.

  • Patent number: 10859510
Abstract: A sensor system for measuring and locating parameters of a structure includes a robot configured to move between a first position and a second position along the structure. An inspection sensor is coupled to the robot and configured to measure a parameter associated with the structure. A localization sensor suite includes an inertial measurement unit and is configured to capture data associated with translational degrees of freedom and a rotational degree of freedom of the robot determined by the structure and an image capture system mounted to the robot. The image capture system acquires images of the structure. One or more processors is operatively connected to the localization sensor suite. The one or more processors is responsive to non-transitory executable computer instructions for generating a map of the route including features of the structure, the measured parameters, and a position of the robot relative to the structure.
