Abstract: A delivery system or apparatus for the production, evaporation or release of volatile materials, wherein the volatile material contains a high level of solids to enhance intensity, character and/or substantivity of a perfume presentation or other fluid property. By providing a formulation with a relatively higher level of solids, an increase in intensity, perceived character and substantivity may be achieved. The system may be capable of battery operation and/or use an open capillary tube to deliver the volatile material from a reservoir to a transducer.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a delivery system or apparatus for the production, evaporation or release and wide dispersion of volatile materials using an electromechanical transducer or electromechanical transducer, wherein the transition from droplets to the molecular level of the volatile material is assisted by an air disturbance generator. By increasing the rate of droplet disintegration and the emission or release of the volatile materials, higher detection of the less volatile components is achieved, resulting in higher volatile material concentration and improved hedonics, thus delivering an improved method of dispensing such volatile materials. The system is highly energy efficient and capable of battery operation.

The active material is preferably a perfume and the composition provides a controlled-release scent, along with controlling malodor when the compositions fuirther comprise optional odor control agent. Methods of providing a controlled-release of an active material on a surface comprise the step of contacting the surface with a composition comprising a dispersant and microcapsules containing an active material.
