  • Patent number: 11987133
Abstract: A variable setting drivetrain for use with a vehicle including a controller in operable communication with an electric motor and configured to provide signals to the motor representative of a target output torque vector, where the controller is configured to calculate the target output torque vector by taking the weighted average of a first torque vector determined using a first output map, a second torque vector determined using a second output map, and a third torque vector determined using a third output map.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: May 21, 2024
    Assignee: DEERE & COMPANY
    Inventors: Kirk Rudolph, Jonathan Coulter
  • Patent number: 11572672
Abstract: A work machine includes an engine for driving a primary working unit. At least one hydraulically powered auxiliary working unit is powered by a hydraulic pump. The engine and an electric motor both provide power to the hydraulic pump via a planetary gear set which sums the power inputs from the engine and the electric motor. The pump speed of the hydraulic pump is thereby decoupled from the engine speed of the engine.

  • Publication number: 20220228346
Abstract: A control system is provided for a work vehicle having a powertrain and at least one implement configured to engage with a material during a dig operation. The control system includes a power source; a transmission configured for selective engagement to transfer the power from the engine and the motor to drive an output shaft of the powertrain of the work vehicle; and a controller. The controller has a processor and memory architecture configured to: receive at least one operational parameter of the work vehicle; evaluate the at least one operational parameter to determine if the at least one operational parameter satisfies a dig preparation condition; and generate, upon satisfying the dig preparation condition, at least one dig preparation command for at least one of the transmission and the engine to prepare the powertrain for the dig operation prior to the at least one implement engaging the material.
