  • Patent number: 10798929
Abstract: A powered jigging device has a support frame, and a rod carrier that pivots in a first working plane while holding a fishing rod. A motor carrier is movably coupled to the support frame in a manner allowing constrained motion of the motor carrier in a parallel second working plane. A motor on the motor carrier drives an eccentric about a rotational axis of the motor. The eccentric is engaged with a mating feature the rod carrier at a position radially spaced from the pivot axis such that said driven revolution of the eccentric normally pivots the rod carrier upward and downward about said pivot axis, while the available constrained motion between the motor carrier and the support frame accommodates freewheeling operation of the motor when a caught fish pulls a front end of the rod carrier into a lowered position via tension in the fishing line.

  • Patent number: 9149153
Abstract: Provided is a barbecue apparatus for preventing flare-ups and improving temperature distribution and heat retention when cooking on a barbecue. The apparatus comprises at least one plate that is movable between a first position lying atop a respective side of at least one burner tent and a second position withdrawn from the respective side of the at least one burner tent. Further provided are a barbecue comprising said apparatus and a method of preventing flare-ups and improving temperature distribution and heat retention when cooking on a barbecue by moving at least one plate between a first position lying atop a respective side of at least one burner tent and a second position withdrawn from the respective side of the at least one burner tent.

  • Patent number: 9107535
Abstract: A barbecue accessory for addressing flare ups, uneven heat distribution, and open lid heat loss features a series of spaced-apart longitudinal members connected together in a flexible endless loop having a width less than a first one of the length and width dimensions of a barbecue firebox. A closed loop drive system is arranged for mounting in the firebox between the bottom wall to engage the flexible endless loop to drive each of the spaced apart members of the flexible endless loop in a closed-loop path back and forth along a second one of the length and width dimensions of the firebox. At least one wiping member presents an upward facing wiping surface in the firebox beneath a moving path of the longitudinal members in close proximity thereto to clean the longitudinal members as they pass the wiping member.
