  • Publication number: 20240149795
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments generally directed to a vehicle component, such as a tailgate or window sill, that includes an accessory locking mechanism to couple a corresponding locking mechanism of an interchangeable member. The interchangeable member is a modular accessory coupled to the vehicle component. The interchangeable member is one interchangeable member of a plurality of interchangeable members that are similarly coupled to the vehicle component. Example interchangeable members include a bike interface to secure a bike to the vehicle, a ski interface to secure skis to the vehicle, or a clamping interface having a plurality of clamps having an adjustable height to secure substantially planar components, such as pieces of wood, to the vehicle. By employing these embodiment, a vehicle can be selectively equipped with at least one interchangeable member, thereby expanding the convenience and utility that the vehicle delivers.

  • Publication number: 20230391265
Abstract: A vehicle includes a storage trench having a bottom surface and side surfaces. The bottom surface is recessed relative to a floor of the vehicle, a first side surface extends upwards from the bottom surface to the floor on a first side of the trench, and a second side surface extends upwards from the bottom surface to the floor on a second side of the trench. The trench extends between a first seat and a second seat of the vehicle, unobstructed from an occupant compartment to a storage compartment. The trench allows access from outside of the vehicle, for example, from either a forward or rearward storage compartment. An inset may be included along the bottom surface. The insert can be removed, by sliding for example, for cleaning or to help access stored gear. The trench is longer than either storage compartment, capable of storing relatively long gear or equipment.

  • Publication number: 20230256889
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented herein for a mounting apparatus configured to arrange a retractable kitchen within a vehicle enclosure. The mounting apparatus comprises a first slot configured to accommodate an alignment protrusion of a kitchen module. The mounting apparatus further comprises a second slot configured to accommodate a locking assembly, which, when actuated into a locking position prevents translation of the kitchen module along the second slot. The mounting apparatus shall be arranged on a bottom side of the vehicle enclosure and shall have a retractable kitchen module fixedly attached to the mounting apparatus. The retractable kitchen module comprises a kitchen module enclosure configured to move from a stored position to an extended positioned, and a kitchen work surface configured to extend away from the front side of the vehicle enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20230078631
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to detect a motion event corresponding to at least one of a vehicle tow assembly, a winch assembly, or a gear guard cable. With the use of one or more cameras, the system captures images of a cable (e.g., a gear guard cable, a winch cable, or a tow cable). With the use of processing circuitry, a cable is identified in the captured images. The movement of the cable is tracked in the captured images. A motion event of the cable is identified based on the movement. In response to detecting the motion event, a vehicle comprised of the system and the cable performs an action.
