  • Patent number: 10054232
Abstract: The invention relates to a sealing segment for sealing between a stationary component and a rotating component. The sealing segment having a passage that extends so as to enable pressure balancing between radial ends of the sealing segment so by providing a seal that can ensure a minimum seal distance is maintained without the need for the complexities of actuators or other mechanical devices.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 24, 2015
Date of Patent: August 21, 2018
    Assignee: General Electric Technology GmbH
    Inventor: Jonathan David Seaton
  • Patent number: 9394999
Abstract: The invention relates to a sealing system for sealing between a first component and a second component wherein at least one or either the first component or the second component is a rotating component. The first component has a circumferential groove in which a sealing segment has first and fifth end portions adjacent the groove and second, third and fourth portions that form a U shape that mirrors the shape of and extends into the circumferential groove.

  • Patent number: 7650908
Abstract: A valve assembly (100) has an inlet port (104) and an outlet port (106) linked by a fluid conduit (102) for allowing fluid to pass therebetween. The valve assembly includes a stop valve having a spindle (112) that is centrally mounted within the valve assembly and a valve head (108) mounted on the spindle (112). The stop valve spindle (112) is operable to move the stop valve head (108) between an open position, in which the inlet port (104) is in communication with the outlet port (106), and a closed position, in which the outlet port is isolated from the inlet port. Also provided is a control valve having at least one spindle (114) that is eccentrically mounted within the valve assembly and a valve head (110) mounted on the at least one control valve spindle (114).

  • Patent number: 7641240
Abstract: A removable pressure sealing assembly for connecting two pipes includes a single piece cylindrical cover placed over a gap between the pipes, the pipes being aligned with each other. Various annular seals are positioned on the pipes to create a sealing mechanism in the gap between the cover and the pipes before the cover is finally positioned over the gap between the ends of the pipes. Once the annular seals are correctly positioned, the cover can be moved over the gap and end piece rings bolted to both the pipes and the cover to secure the assembly in place.
