  • Patent number: 11883540
Abstract: The present application relates to a vehicle whose shell material is modified with at least one additional secondary phase that acts as a cork. In the presence of an energy source (preferably ultrasound), the corks embedded in the shell are either removed from the shell to create permanent pores or perturbed within the shell to create transient pores that can control transport in or out of the vehicle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 14, 2021
Date of Patent: January 30, 2024
    Assignee: McMaster University
Inventors: Todd Hoare, Jonathan Dorogin, David Koff, Andrew Singh
  • Publication number: 20240010694
Abstract: Provided are unique affibodies specific for bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF-2), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), inteleukin-4 (IL-4), and glial derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), and well as hydrogels that include the affibodies and the corresponding protein. Also provided are methods of using the hydrogels, for example to treat bone injury, wounds, and neuron injury. In some examples, the hydrogel includes at least two different affibodies specific for the same protein, but have different disassociation constants (KD).

  • Publication number: 20230220166
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an in situ-gelling hydrogel composition based on functionalized zwitterionic polymers. The resulting hydrogels exhibit highly anti-fouling, anti-adhesive, and lubricating properties to enable the fabrication of bulk hydrogels or hydrogel-based coatings of relevance to biomedical applications.
