Abstract: A method for detecting and responding to damage in a rotor blade of a wind turbine includes monitoring at least one signal of a pitch actuator of a pitch system of the rotor blade of the wind turbine. The signal(s) is a proxy for a pitch driving torque of the pitch actuator of the pitch system. Thus, the method includes defining a metric that captures certain behavior of the proxy for the pitch driving torque of the pitch actuator of the pitch system. The method further includes comparing the metric to a corresponding metric associated with a reference rotor blade representing a healthy rotor blade. Moreover, the method includes implementing a control action when the metric is outside of a predetermined range defined by the healthy rotor blade.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and storage media for assessing risk within a network having a specified configuration, wherein the network includes hardware components and software components are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may identify a plurality of attack techniques to target the hardware components and the software components of the network; perform a first set of technical assessments from inside within the network; perform a second set of technical assessments from outside the network; determine a plurality of risk evaluations; determine a plurality of risk component scores; and determine an overall risk score using at least two risk component scores.

The personal medical status device authenticates the user to provide the status of the condition using a fingerprint scanner as well as other methods. A clock display provides time related information based on the latest test result. The clock display can show the time from the previous test or time until the next test. A test result display provides a visual indicator of the status of the user without compromising privacy. A proprietary dock allows connection to the medical testing kit while being tamper-proof.

Abstract: Tannin-based clouding agents are described that when combined with a beverage, such as beer, provide to the beverage a high haze value that is stable over prolonged storage, as well as other benefits. The tannin-based clouding agents include a tannin, such as a plant-derived hydrolysable tannic acid, and can also include a hydrocolloid and/or a yeast extract. Beverages containing the disclosed tannin-based clouding agents are also described. Methods of making and using the disclosed tannin-based clouding agents and beverages containing the disclosed tannin-based clouding agents are also described.
