  • Publication number: 20240135973
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods, and computer storage media for identifying candidate boundaries for video segments, video segment selection using those boundaries, and text-based video editing of video segments selected via transcript interactions. In an example implementation, boundaries of detected sentences and words are extracted from a transcript, the boundaries are retimed into an adjacent speech gap to a location where voice or audio activity is a minimum, and the resulting boundaries are stored as candidate boundaries for video segments. As such, a transcript interface presents the transcript, interprets input selecting transcript text as an instruction to select a video segment with corresponding boundaries selected from the candidate boundaries, and interprets commands that are traditionally thought of as text-based operations (e.g., cut, copy, paste) as an instruction to perform a corresponding video editing operation using the selected video segment.

  • Patent number: 10698490
Abstract: A haptic feedback device comprises a body having one or more movable components. The haptic feedback device also comprises a controller configured to move the one or more movable components in response to control signals received from a processor, the control signals generated based on a state of interaction between a user and a virtual environment, to shift a center of gravity of the haptic feedback device so as to impart particular haptic sensations to the user corresponding to the state of interaction between the user and the virtual environment. The controller is also configured to dynamically adjust respective positions of one or more of the movable components to dynamically shift the center of gravity of the haptic feedback device based on changes in a physical state of the haptic feedback device as the user physically manipulates the haptic feedback device.

  • Publication number: 20190320853
Abstract: A cutting board has a planer top surface, an opposing bottom surface, and a side surface extending between the top surface and the bottom surface, a groove forming a depression in the top surface, the groove extending along a perimeter edge of the of top surface, a hole extending from the top surface through the board to the opposing bottom surface, the hole overlapping with at least a portion of the groove, a recess in the bottom surface aligned with the hole, the recess extending into the board from the bottom surface but not reaching the groove or the top surface, and two or more legs attached to the bottom surface, the legs being adjustable to change an angle of the top surface to cause liquid in the groove to flow towards the hole.

  • Publication number: 20070062339
Abstract: A power tong (1) or back-up tong has a sliding jaw assembly (6) that may be advanced into the throat (4) of the tong for engagement with a pipe. A camming surface (11) on the inside circumference of the ring gear (10) advances the sliding jaw assembly into full engagement with the well pipe when the ring gear (10) is rotated with respect to the jaw assembly.

  • Publication number: 20060032339
Abstract: A power tong or back-up tong has a jaw assembly that is advanced into engagement with a pipe through a cam follower that contacts the camming surface on the inside circumference of a ring gear, the cam follower being in the form of a series of roller elements arranged as a circulating bearing. In a preferred form, the roller elements are cylindrical roller bearings and the jaw assembly is mounted for sliding advancement towards the pipe to be engaged. In an alternate variant the cam follower includes an indexing guide that maintains the cylindrical roller bearings in proper alignment.

  • Publication number: 20050235780
Abstract: A tong assembly having a powered tong mounted over a backup tong is supported at its rear by a post with torque measuring means. The powered tong is supported at its front, near its throat, by one or more struts that extend downwardly to the backup tong. Such strut(s) provide support for the powered tong when the assembly is placed on a support surface for storage. The struts each have a joint with a retracted condition in which the joint is rigid when the tong is placed on a support surface, and an extended condition in which the joint allows a degree of lateral displacement when the tong assembly is applying torque to a pipe string. This maximizes the amount of torque passing through the rearward post, and therefore ensures a more accurate sensing of applied torque by the torque-measuring device.

  • Patent number: 6046697
Abstract: A phase array antenna is monitored by applying to each element of the array in turn a signal known characteristics, detecting the signal output from the selected element as a result of the applied known signal, and comparing the detected signal with the applied signal whereby to monitor changes in the applied signal due to the signal path. The detection is preferably carried out using a single monitoring unit in the near-field of each antenna element. Alternatively the detection is carried out using a single source of applied signals a number of individual monitoring units one for each element of the array, and a switching device for selecting the element of the array to be monitored.
