Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for disposing of refuse are disclosed. A refuse container may comprise a housing, a lid, an actuator, odor-blocking doors, a base, and an automatic door subassembly. The odor-blocking doors may mount to the housing and the lid may hingedly attach to the housing. The actuator may operatively couple to the base and the automatic door subassembly. Actuating the actuator may move the automatic door subassembly from a first position to a second position to open the lid. A user may place the refuse on the odor-blocking doors. The automatic door subassembly may then move from the second position to a third position to close the lid, from the third position to a fourth position to open the odor-blocking doors such that the refuse drops through the odor-blocking doors, and from the fourth position back to the first position to close the odor-blocking doors.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for automated page generation using value-based recommendations are disclosed. A plurality of content recommendations are determined for a web page using one or more recommenders. Individual ones of the content recommendations are assigned to individual ones of a plurality of interaction elements. Respective effectiveness values for individual ones of the interaction elements are determined based at least in part on the individual ones of the content recommendations assigned to the individual ones of the interaction elements. Based at least in part on the respective effectiveness values for the individual ones of the interaction elements, individual ones of the interaction elements are assigned to respective portions of the web page. The web page is generated based at least in part on the individual ones of the interaction elements assigned to the respective portions of the web page.

The system comprises a communications server accessible by a mobile device; a local services network interactively connected to the communications server; a rich media control application resident on the communications server, the rich media control application configured to manage rich media distribution for a user of the mobile device in response to receipt of a valid rich media access code from the mobile device, by requesting a rich media content corresponding to the rich media access code from the local services network; receiving the rich media content from the local services network; and sending a notification message to the mobile device for enabling the user of the mobile device to access the rich media content.

Optionally, an uncertainty factor associated with the frequency estimated may also be provided. The two bounds take into account the hysteresis effects of the oscillator signal drift due to temperature so that a more accurate initial frequency estimate can be provided to the GPS receiver, thus reducing its average time to first fix.

Abstract: When testing network management applications, it is desirable to show that they will work with large or very large networks, to determine the upper bounds of the applications capabilities, and improvements which might increase the upper bounds. A method of testing a network application is disclosed mapping a layer-3 addresses of a real subnetwork onto a plurality of mapped layer-3 subnetwork addresses for conversations with applications or devices. Packets are modified to change a destination layer-3 address in a mapped subnetwork, pointing to corresponding real IP address and forwarding the packets. The conversation to which a response from a reallayer-3 address relates is identified. The source layer-3 address and packet contents are changed into the appropriate mapped subnetwork and the packet is forwarded to the application or device. An existing test network of any size may be used as the basis for testing the network management application.
