  • Patent number: 12252993
Abstract: A system for actuating fluid flow is disclosed. The system includes a fluid actuator, an electric motor for driving the fluid actuator, a motor controller for controlling the motor, a local energy storage device for powering the motor, a stability monitor that assesses instability of operation of the fluid actuator, and a mitigation control that mitigates instability of the fluid actuator via the motor controller based on the assessment of the stability monitor, wherein a response time of the mitigation is faster than changes in fluid flow in the system during fluid actuation.

  • Patent number: 12003634
Abstract: Systems and methods for encrypted content management are provided and include generating a user private key, a user public key, and a symmetric encryption key. A group private key, a group public key, and a group symmetric encryption key are generated and the group private key is encrypted with the group symmetric encryption key. A first shared-secret key is generated based on the user public key and the group private key using a diffie-hellman exchange algorithm. The group symmetric encryption key is encrypted using the first shared-secret key to generate an escrow key. Plaintext data is encrypted using a content symmetric key. A second shared-secret key is generated based on an ephemeral private key and the group public key using a diffie-hellman exchange algorithm. The content symmetric key is encrypted using the second shared-secret key.

  • Publication number: 20160097605
Abstract: A plate heat exchanger includes a frame, a set of plates disposed in the frame between a head and a follower, and a closure unit. The closure unit includes a drive mechanism and a power unit. The drive mechanism is configured to urge the follower to move towards the head to compress the set of plates and configured to urge the follower to move away from the head to release the set of plates. The power unit is configured to selectably connect to and disconnect from the drive mechanism and to provide power to the drive mechanism. The power unit is configured to compress the set of plates in response to a controller receiving a close command.

  • Patent number: 8425809
Abstract: A method of forming granules, the method including forming a suspension of a nanopowder such as a nano zirconia powder containing yttria. The powder is formed from a suspension, and freon is added directly to the suspension as an additive. The suspension is then granulated by spray freeze drying, and the freon subsequently removed by heat treatment. The voids left by the vacated freon provide meso, micro and macro flaws or structural defects in the granules.

  • Patent number: 8316070
Abstract: A technique for allowing a linear feedback shift register (LFSR), and particularly a Galois LFSR, to be advanced forward by an amount m (i.e. as if the register had undertaken m input/output cycles), without actually having to undertake m input/output cycles is described. This is useful for example in the communications domain by allowing the shift register to be able to jump to a particular scrambling code. In particular, an embodiment provides an apparatus which is able to control the advance of a LFSR by feeding into the LFSR a data word obtained from the polynomial multiplication of two predetermined data words which are looked up from one or more tables in dependence on an advance amount, being the number of steps the LFSR is to advance. The state of the LFSR after the data word has been fed into the LFSR is then the same state the LFSR would be in if it had actually been advanced by the advance amount.

  • Patent number: 8291748
Abstract: A method for detecting the presence of a leak between two fluid paths of an assembled plate heat exchanger by evacuating one or both fluid paths to a low pressure, introducing a test gas to one of the fluid paths to create a pressure differential between the fluid paths, and testing for the presence of test gas in the second fluid path.

  • Publication number: 20110135471
Abstract: A wind turbine has a plurality of feathering blades and a governor for controlling the pitch angle of the blades according to the speed of rotation of the turbine. An elastic linkage connects between the governor and the blades. The linkage urges the blades toward the pitch position set by the governor. The linkage allows pitching of the blades toward a more feathered position than a position set by the governor against the elastic return force. The linkage does not allow substantial pitching of the blades to a less feathered position than the position set by the governor, lne centrifugal governor sets the minimum pitch angle of the blades, but the blades can react immediately to additional wind pressure by self feathering against the urging of the elastic linkage.
