  • Patent number: 11963721
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and a system for quantifying a biomarker of a biological tissue. Two spectral sub-intervals are determined from a plurality of images of the tissue acquired at discrete wavelengths within a main wavelength interval using an imaging sensor in a manner such that the combination of the image data in the at least two spectral sub-intervals are correlated with a clinical variable of interest. The tissue is illuminated using one or more light sources with wavelengths within the at least two spectral sub-intervals. A measurement is of the light reflected by the tissue is acquired using an imaging sensor; and a measure of the biomarker of the tissue is calculated using the acquired measurement. The main wavelength interval is broader than each of the at least two spectral sub-intervals and at least one spectral confounder causing a spectral variability of the acquired image is present in the tissue.

  • Patent number: 10051410
Abstract: A wearable device is adapted to monitor a wearer's physical activity patterns and to provide assistance to the wearer when a need for assistance is indicated. The device includes a processor is programmed to cause the device to collect activity data necessary to determine the physical activity pattern of the wearer over time, to provide the gathered activity data to a server via a network interface for processing to create or update behavioral rules for the wearer, to receive the behavioral rules from the server for comparison to the received activity data, and to provide to the wearer via the user interface assistance information when the wearer has requested assistance or when a check of the wearer's activity against the behavioral rules indicates that the wearer may need assistance.

  • Publication number: 20150359185
Abstract: A device for irrigating soil has a chassis having wheels or tracks for motion, the chassis having one or more water sprinklers with streams directed at the soil, a water storage tank, and a sloped catchment surface having one or more sloped planes or curved surfaces for receiving water from a refill station into the water storage tank, wherein, under the control of an electronic circuit, the irrigation device can refill the water tank by positioning any part of the catchment surface under a water stream from the refill station. A method has the steps of measuring soil moisture at remote locations, refilling the mobile robot using a gravity feed water stream, defining a route for distribution of water, traversing the irrigation routes, refilling water according to soil moisture measurements, storing photovoltaic energy in a battery, and rotating, to a compass heading such that the photovoltaic array is optimally oriented.

  • Patent number: 7908253
Abstract: Data indexing using polyarchical indexing codes and automatically generated expansion paths. For a piece of data, an indexing code is received relating to a particular categorization or other indexing parameter. Based upon the indexing code, one or more expansion sets of codes are retrieved and applied to the piece of data. The expansion sets of codes may include indexing codes that relate to hierarchical levels of indexing. The expansion sets of codes may also include different expansion paths through the hierarchical levels of indexing. The polyarchical codes may include multiple cross-categorization of the data across the same or different levels of categories. They may also include multiple expansion paths in different directions across hierarchical levels of categories or indexing.
