Publication number: 20190340249Abstract: Parallel linguistic corpora used to train cognitive translation systems are built from robot plans. A collection of robot plans in various languages is analyzed in candidate pairings to see if any two plans are directed to the same task. If so, verbal instructions in different languages from the two plans (such as plan names) are assumed to have the same meaning, and are stored in association as part of the bilingual corpus. If each plan has multiple steps, the corresponding steps from the two plans can also be stored in association as part of the corpus. Robot plans are modeled as finite state automata having a plurality of links representing sensory states and a plurality of nodes representing motor actions, and the determination of plan similarity is based on a comparison of the two FSAs.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2018Publication date: November 7, 2019Inventors: Jonathan H. Publication number: 20190182241Abstract: An anonymized biometric representation of a target individual is used in a computer based security system. A detailed input biometric signal associated with a target individual is obtained. A weakened biometric representation of the detailed biometric signal is constructed such that the weakened biometric representation is designed to identify a plurality of individuals including the target individual. The target individual is enrolled in a data store associated with the computer based security system wherein the weakened biometric representation is included in a record for the target individual. In another aspect of the invention, a detailed input biometric signal from a screening candidate individual is obtained. The detailed biometric signal of the screening candidate is matched against the weakened biometric representation included in the record for the target individual.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2019Publication date: June 13, 2019Inventors: Jonathan H. Publication number: 20190147367Abstract: In one embodiment, in accordance with the present invention, a method, computer program product, and system for performing actions based on captured interpersonal interactions during a meeting is provided. One or more computer processors capture the interpersonal interactions between people in a physical space during a period of time, using machine learning algorithms to detect the interpersonal interactions and a state of each person based on vision and audio sensors in the physical space. The one or more computer processors analyze and categorize the interactions and state of each person, and tag representations of each person with the respectively analyzed and categorized interactions and states of the respective person over the period of time. The one or more computer processors then take an action based on the analysis.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2017Publication date: May 16, 2019Inventors: Rachel K. E. Bellamy, Jonathan H. Patent number: 10244013Abstract: A computer-implemented method manages remote electronic drop-ins on local conversations. A local audio sensor transmits a captured conversation from a local cluster of persons to a remote communication device where members of the local cluster of persons are within a predefined distance of one another, and where the remote communication device is at a location that is beyond a human hearing range from the local audio sensor. One or more processors determine that the captured conversation is about a particular topic. A request from a remote user is received from the remote communication device to electronically drop in on a particular remote cluster of persons who are having a conversation about the particular topic. In response to receiving the request from the remote user, one or more processors selectively connect a local communication device proximate to the cluster of persons to the remote communication device.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2017Date of Patent: March 26, 2019Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Rachel K.
