  • Patent number: 11803292
Abstract: An embodiment facilitates user control of user interface layouts. A layout diagram visually and diagrammatically represents a current layout. The layout diagram includes layout diagram regions which correspond to user interface component regions in the current layout; the user interface component regions have user interface components as occupants. The embodiment gets a choice identifying a traveler component and a destination region, with the traveler component being an occupant of a source region. The embodiment modifies the current layout of the user interface to produce a modified layout in response to the choice, and updates the layout diagram to match the modified layout. Interaction is improved by diagrammatically showing the user the results of possible layout changes before performing any of them.

  • Patent number: 10929381
Abstract: Aspects described herein are concerned with automatically validating spatial features of a spatial dataset. One solution is built upon a database server which performs a decomposition of the features' geometries into line segments, after which, sets of line segments are compared to detect errors in the dataset. The decomposition of features geometries into line segments results in a reduction of processing time with a simultaneous increase of precision. The method not only generates new intermediate database structures for detection of topological errors but is also complemented by a clearance process that can lead to the automatic repair of topological errors. The clearance process identifies topological errors and provides modifications to the previously identified line segments such that a modified set of line segments overcomes the conditions that led to the error state. The changes to the data set can be applied automatically after displaying them as an overlay for a predefined amount of time.

  • Patent number: 8401832
Abstract: A method includes initiating a first reservoir simulation on a first simulator for a first set of physical parameters of a first reservoir. The first reservoir simulator uses a first set of components for a compositional reservoir model. A second reservoir simulation is initiated on a second simulator. A network simulation is initiated on a network simulator to model a network for coupling the first reservoir and the second reservoir to a surface facility. The network simulator uses a second set of components for a compositional network model. The method further includes translating each of a first hydrocarbon fluid stream of the first reservoir simulator and a second hydrocarbon fluid stream of the second reservoir simulator to a common fluid model. Further, network balancing is initiated among the simulators at a corresponding point in each controller time step.

  • Publication number: 20120143577
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include one or more of a method, computing device, computer-readable medium, and system for prioritizing drilling propositions. An example embodiment of the present disclosure may include a method that includes providing a reservoir simulator for simulating a reservoir model, wherein the reservoir model defines a plurality of wells to be drilled. The method may further include storing model state information related to the reservoir model; calculating a potential production of at least a portion of the wells to be drilled by simulating one or more timesteps; and restoring the model state information to the reservoir model. In addition, the method may include using the reservoir simulator to simulate the reservoir model with a drilling priority, wherein the drilling priority is based on the calculated potential production.

  • Patent number: 7451066
Abstract: A “near wellbore modeling” software will, when executed by a processor of a computer, model a localized area of a reservoir field which surrounds and is located near a specific wellbore in the reservoir field by performing the following functions: (1) receive input data representative of a reservoir field containing a plurality of wellbores, (2) establish a boundary around one specific wellbore in the reservoir field which will be individually modeled and simulated, (3) impose an “fine scale” unstructured grid inside the boundary consisting of a plurality of tetrahedrally shaped grid cells and further impose a fine scale structured grid about the perforated sections of the specific wellbore, (4) determine a plurality of fluxes/pressure values at the boundary, the fluxes/pressure values representing characteristics of the reservoir field located outside the boundary, (5) establish one or more properties for each tetrahedral cell of the unstructured grid and each cylindrical grid cell of the structured grid, (6

  • Publication number: 20070112547
Abstract: Integrated surface-subsurface modeling has been shown to have a critical impact on field development and optimization. Integrated models are often necessary to analyze properly the pressure interaction between a reservoir and a constrained surface facility network, or to predict the behavior of several fields, which may have different fluid compositions, sharing a common surface facility. The latter is gaining a tremendous significance in recent deepwater field development. These applications require an integrated solution with the following capabilities: * to balance a surface network model with a reservoir simulation model in a robust and efficient manner. * To couple multiple reservoir models, production and injection networks, synchronising their advancement through time. * To allow the reservoir and surface network models to use their own independent fluid descriptions (black oil or compositional descriptions with differing sets of pseudo-components).
