Patent number: 11976215Abstract: Solutions to the problems of scuffing and chipping of the paint films in high traffic areas and in tight spaces, such as dressing rooms in department stores, where multiple scrapings of the wall paints are created by consumers, clothes hangers, shoes, etc., and hallways and conference rooms in office and other commercial buildings are disclosed. Wax seeded latex polymers admixed with an added wax in architectural compositions and optionally with polyurethane resin are utilized to create paint films that are resistant to scuffing and chipping.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2022Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: Columbia Insurance CompanyInventors: Jonathan Dugan, Ashlee Agens, Ed Ament, Glenn Cooper, Johanna Garcia, Jeff Hood, Kevin Lee, Kate O'Connor, Rogina Saad, Marie Saturne, Jeffrey T. Patent number: 11036797Abstract: First data of a hierarchical data structure is accessed. A directed graph is generated based on the first data. Generating the directed graph includes creating multiple nodes representing the first data and linking first nodes representing data at a particular level of the hierarchical data structure to second nodes representing data at a lower level of the hierarchical data structure. A query requesting information from the hierarchical data structure is received. A particular node, that is a starting point for searching the directed graph based on the query, is identified within the directed graph. Out-links, that link the particular node to other nodes of the directed graph, are identified. Each of the other nodes, that is connected to the particular node by the out-links, is inspected to determine which of the other nodes represents responsive data matching the query. The query is responded with the responsive data.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2018Date of Patent: June 15, 2021Assignee: ADTRAN, Inc.Inventor: Jonathan Hood

Patent number: 8953808Abstract: A system and method for effectively supporting data transfer procedures includes a source device that registers with an account server to participate in a data backup service. The source device then encrypts and stores user data onto a datacenter. The source device later may request a data transfer task from a vendor. The datacenter responsively transfers the encrypted user data to a vendor server, and an escrow server generates and sends a temporary key to the vendor server. A destination device may then utilize the temporary key to decrypt and securely store the user data onto the destination device.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2012Date of Patent: February 10, 2015Assignees: Sony Corporation, Sony Electronics Inc.Inventors: Christopher Russo, Grant Sabesky, Darion Felix Rodgers, Glenda McFerran, Carolyn A. Publication number: 20130096888Abstract: The invention provides a model for generating predicted action potentials of an electrically active cell. The disclosed model includes three operatively coupled submodels. A first submodel contains Hodgkin-Huxley elements generating action potentials based on electrical equivalent circuits. A second submodel is based on reaction kinetics of cell metabolism and is operatively coupled with the first submodel. A third submodel is based on Boolean dynamics representing signaling and associated cellular processes and is operatively coupled with the first and second submodels. The invention includes storing a library of calculated action potentials and associated cellular parameters generated by the model, applying a stimulus to the electrically active cell in vitro so that the cell generates an action potential; and comparing the cell-generated action potential with those stored in the library, wherein a match is predictive of the cellular point of action of the applied stimulus according to the parameters stored.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2011Publication date: April 18, 2013Applicant: UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA RESEARCH FOUNDATION, INC.Inventors: James Hickman, Peter Molnar, Frank Sommerhage, Jonathan Hood, Jerry Jenkins

Patent number: 6601027Abstract: An action position is manipulated in computer-implemented speech recognition by receiving data representing a spoken command. The command includes a command identifier (e.g., insert before, insert after, resume with) and a designation of at least one previously-spoken word. Speech recognition is performed on the data to identify the command identifier and the designation. Finally, an action position is established relative to the previously-spoken word based on the command identifier. Text may be selected using a spoken selection command that includes a command identifier and a text block identifier identifying a block of previously-recognized text. At least one word included in the block of text is not included in the text block identifier.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1998Date of Patent: July 29, 2003Assignee: ScanSoft, Inc.Inventors: Barton D.
