  • Publication number: 20240112412
Abstract: A room manager can generate mappings for a real-world room that support a shared XR environment. For example, the real-world room can include real-world objects and surfaces, such as a table(s), chair(s), wall(s), door(s), window(s), etc. The room manager can generate XR object definitions based on information received about the real-world room, object(s), and surface(s). For example, the room manager can implement a flow that guides a user equipped with an XR system to provide information for the XR object definitions, such as real-world surfaces that map to the XR object(s), borders (e.g., measured using a component of the XR system), such as borders on real-world surfaces, semantic information (e.g., number of seat assignments at an XR table, size of XR objects, etc.), and other suitable information. Implementations generate previews of the shared XR environment, such as a local preview and a remote preview.

  • Publication number: 20240108380
Abstract: Disclosed is a surgical fixation device to mount on bone. This device does not utilize screws and achieves stability via applying force to the inner wall of the bore and is therefore faster, easier to use, and less user dependent. The device facilitates fast, easy anchoring system for use with other devices that require rigid fixation to bone. The device provides for intermittent mounting of tools, equipment, and/or accessories to a cylindrical bore in bone for use in surgical applications without compromising surrounding bine structure such as done by the use of bone screws. Rigid fixation to bone is a common requirement for surgical procedures for placement of tools, monitoring systems, positional systems, or used as fiducial markers. The present fixation device removably mounts on bone without the disadvantages associated with bone screws and other fixation devices.

  • Publication number: 20240112182
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for authenticating users. An exemplary method includes receiving, by a directory server (DS), an authentication request for a transaction to an account where the request includes a token and a cryptogram, and transmitting the token and cryptogram to a digital service server (DSS). The method also includes mapping, by the DSS, the token to an account number for the account, validating the cryptogram, generating a directory server nonce (DSN) for the request, and transmitting the DSN and the account number to the DS. The method further includes transmitting, by the DS, the DSN and the account number to an access control server (ACS) associated with an issuer of the account and, in response to an issuer authentication value (IAV), compiling an accountholder authentication value (AAV) including the IAV, the DSN and an amount of the transaction and transmitting the AAV to a merchant or server.

  • Patent number: 11944405
Abstract: A pressure-sensing device includes a device frame, a flexible membrane, a pressure sensor, and device electronics. The device frame includes a base surface that rests on a supporting structure and a frame attachment region located opposite to the base surface such that the frame attachment region is raised from the supporting structure when the base surface is resting on the supporting structure. The device frame also includes a seating surface. The flexible membrane is attached to the frame attachment region such that the device frame and the flexible membrane enclose a pressure chamber. The seating surface extends outward around the flexible membrane and the flexible membrane protrudes above the seating surface. The pressure sensor is configured to generate a pressure signal. The device electronics are configured to determine the pressure in the pressure chamber based on the pressure signal.

  • Patent number: 11946744
Abstract: Examples of synchronization of a gyroscope in a virtual-reality (VR) environment are described. In some examples, gyroscopic feedback for VR application content may be predicted. In some examples, a time shift corresponding to a physical system lag of a gyroscope may be added to synchronize the gyroscopic feedback with the VR application content. In some examples, the gyroscopic feedback may be applied based on the time shift.

  • Patent number: 11949385
Abstract: A biasing circuit with high current drive capability for fast settling of a biasing voltage to a stacked cascode amplifier is presented. According to a first aspect, the biasing circuit uses transistors matched with transistors of the cascode amplifier to generate a boost current during a transition phase that changes the biasing voltage by charging or discharging a capacitor. The boost current is activated during the transition phase and deactivated when a steady-state condition is reached. According to a second aspect, the biasing circuit uses an operational amplifier in a feedback loop that forces a source node of a cascode transistor of a reference circuit, that is a scaled down replica version of the cascode amplifier, to be at a reference voltage. The high gain and high current capability of the operational amplifier, provided by isolating a high frequency signal processed by the cascode amplifier from the reference circuit, allow for a quick settling of the biasing voltage.

  • Patent number: 11947862
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to streaming interactive content from a native application executing at an artificial reality (XR) device into an artificial reality environment and/or to nearby XR device(s). A shell environment at an XR system can manage the software components of the system. The shell environment can include a shell application and a three-dimensional shell XR environment displayed to a user. An additional application, natively executing at the XR system, can provide a host version of content and a remote version of content. A two-dimensional virtual object displayed in the shell XR environment can display the host version of the content, and the remote version of the content can be streamed to a remote XR system. The remote XR system can display the remote content within another two-dimensional virtual object, for example in another shell XR environment displayed by the remote XR system.

  • Patent number: 11946478
Abstract: There is provided a fan assembly comprising a motor-driven impeller arranged to generate an airflow, an air outlet arranged to emit the airflow, a plurality of sensors arranged to measure a value for each of a plurality of air quality characteristics, a display and a processor. The processor is configured to receive measured values for each of the plurality of air quality characteristics, identify one of a corresponding set of intervals within which the measured value falls and select an air quality index value associated with the identified interval. The processor is then configured to identify the highest of the selected air quality index values as a current overall air quality index value and to cause the display to display a time series plot of the current air quality index value and a number of preceding air quality index values.

  • Patent number: 11938317
Abstract: Energy is transmitted to a body lumen or passageway in the form of pulsed electric fields (PEFs) and in a manner which provides focal therapy. In some embodiments, PEFs are delivered through independent electrically active electrodes of an energy delivery body, typically in a monopolar fashion. Such delivery concentrates the electrical energy over a smaller surface area, resulting in stronger effects than delivery through an electrode extending circumferentially around the lumen or passageway. It also forces the electrical energy to be delivered in a staged regional approach, mitigating the effect of preferential current pathways through the surrounding tissue. Focal delivery of PEFs can provide increased tissue lethality by employing precise timing and sequencing of energy delivery to the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 11941552
Abstract: Systems and methods for optimization-based travel itinerary planning utilizing a multiattribute travel booking platform are described herein. The system has a database, a scheduler, a parser, and a processor. The database stores a travel lexicon having attribute names, a travel taxonomy having look-up tables, and user preferences for a user related to travel attributes. The scheduler instantiates the travel attributes in terms of the travel lexicon and indexes them, searches for feasible travel itineraries, and transmits an optimal travel itinerary. The parser parses the travel-related query and ascertains a relevant attribute set, which produces attribute values. The processor receives a travel-related query from a user device, receives the user preferences from the database, ranks and weights the attribute values, associates values to the feasible travel itineraries, scores the feasible travel itineraries, and selects the optimal travel itinerary.

  • Patent number: 11934660
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to tiered data store with persistent layers. A write tier in the file system for storing in a file system. A value for a performance metric that corresponds to write requests to the file system may be predicted based on characteristics of the write requests such that the performance metric may be determined based on a plurality of interactions with the write tier. The predicted value that exceeds a threshold value of the performance metric may be employed to cause performance of further actions, including: queuing a portion of the write requests in a memory buffer based on the predicted value and the threshold value; combining the queued portion of the write requests into s; storing the data segments in the write tier such that a measured value of the performance metric may be less than the threshold value.
